2024/11/27 Notes on Web Novel:
I have a guilty pleasure for LN's that I call the Ultimate MC. Basically the main character is set up to be the best in all major talents: math, science, arts (calligraphy/drawing/design), physical aptitude and beauty. It's not enough to be the best in one category. No! Gotta be the best in all of them! LOL
I've read a few LNs & comix where this kind of MC was done well. The fun has to do with how the author chooses to introduce and progress the storyline to show off all the max abilities of the MC. There's generally a mix of training of becoming the best and showing off as the dark horse epic in a variety of twisty schemes.
The FL & ML characters are both Ultimate MC's but the limelight sticks to the FL for Almighty Daughter Runs the World. Core cast of characters were great, but all of the bad guys were the same. It was interesting to see how the author made a point of tying together many plot elements, but it was done by following one plot progression loop for each mini-arc. Hahaha!
Somehow, the series stayed fresh in presentation until 800-ish chapters, and then I started to skim like crazy because I didn't have to read every word to know what was happening. I skimmed to parts that progressed the overall story arc.
I had fun romping around with this cotton candy read. Sometimes, you just can't be serious. XD

The best part: The romance is sweet for those characters that find it and several characters pair off. I wish there were more chapters on some of the secondary pairs as their relationships developed. Worth reading once. It’s worth 4.5 stars because I finished such a long novel without feeling I wasted my life.
This is a transmigration story in a futuristic setting with some travel between galaxies. The 2700+ chapters center on the main character, Ye Zhou, a transmigrator with a complex background including genus level abilities and her pursuer, Cen Shaoqing, appropriately nicknamed Lord Fifth.
The MC is overpowered, as expected, based on the title. It’s a good change of pace to see a strong genius level female character that is not blindly following the overbearing CEO and does not take on the overbearing role herself. I like that she can defeat her opponents with finesse.
The length of the novel allows for extensive character development of the main characters and the secondary characters.
The face slapping is epic! There are many, old and young, that regret testing the patience of the MC.
The bromance and close female relationships were well written.
There are many subplots that end quickly and are easily forgotten. Some subplots resurrect with irritating characters a thousand chapters after they have already served their purpose.
