Matthew, Estelle and Marcus
This is a sweet and loving story of heartache and finally finding true love. Matthew was a bachelor, rancher and was carrying baggage from his past. He has learned his late fathers will told him if he did not marry within one year his inheritance, the ranch was to be given to another distant relative. Estelle is a young wife and mother married to an abusive alcoholic. He drank up almost every cent he made and beat his wife terribly. One day the sheriff comes to the door to say he had been killed and shortly thereafter she discovers their ranch is being repossessed because he has not been paying the bank. Matthew and Estelle agree to a marriage of convenience to solve both their problems. You will enjoy discovering how they find their happily ever after.

An inconvenient marriage
When time is running out for Mathew to marry in order to inherit his father's ranch, he & his sister meet a destitute widow in desperate need of a roof & food for her & her son. Mathew is prodded by his sister to marry this woman, Estelle, and they make an agreement to marry in name only. Mathew quickly falls in love with the little boy, but Estelle is so bundled up in fear that Mathew is like her late husband, who abused her horribly, that she can't let herself care for Mathew. They have many obstacles to overcome in order to be a family. The journey is well worth the read.

very nice
Very nicely written book by Lydia Olson. Enjoyed the story line. Mathew is a rancher who must marry in order to keep the ranch according to his fathers will. Estella, is a widower with a small child. Estella does not want to remarry as her dead husband use to beat her and she did not want more of that. She just wanted a home for her son and herself. Mathew offered Estella what she wanted. I enjoyed this book.

About to be homeless with a four year old son she married Matthew, who had to marry within a few months or lose his ranch. Matthew and Estelle had to learn to trust each other and build a happy family. This story has surprises and danger. The characters were authentic and the plot engaging. It was a good read.

Such a heartwarming story. Estelle had married a drunken monster but didn’t find out until it was too late. Her husband would beat her and blame her for everything that happened. His drinking led to his death and Estelle’s freedom, but how are she and her young son going to survive? Matt has worked so hard on his ranch, how is he going to find a wife so quickly to meet the demands in his father’s will?

Great from the start
The story drew me in from the first page, and never let me down. The main characters were believable, and Estelle had my complete sympathy as she navigates through her circumstances. The villains were truly easy to dislike making for plenty of action throughout the book. I loved this book!

Disappointed with the last few chapters
This started out so enjoyable and really had me into the characters and wanting to find out what happened next. However - towards the end, I found myself skipping over pages, already predicting the outcome. It seems like in every story, there’s a fire! It gets really old reading the same narrative.

I love reading anything by this author. Amazing writer . However, I do wish that authors would stop putting at the end of their books "want to read more?" It would be so much easier for the reader if they would include that in the book instead of having to download another section to find out what happened to the characters.

Estelle and Matthew
Estelle is married to a gambling drunkard who beats her aggressively. He winds up being killed in a saloon fight leaving Estelle with a 4 year old boy and deeply in debt. Matthew’s father stipulated in his will that he has to marry to inherit his farm. Great setup for these two.

This is a great story and the author kept the action moving! There is no retracing of the same point and nothing that seems predictable.
