Conestoga wagons were the predominant way to ship freight around the country prior to the railroad. For some reason, I associate Conestoga wagons with pioneers, but they have a much broader history than that. I found this picture book very informative.

A lot of details about the wagons and how they were used, but I wish it would have mentioned where they were first made and how they came about.

This is a nice book for anyone who is interested in the general information on Conestoga Wagons. With vivid illustrations and a easy to understand writing style, readers will learn a lot about the early days of traveling with these "semis" of their days. A great book for someone who is wanting general information.
