After lonely college student Keiichi dials a wrong number, his wish of having a goddess as a companion is granted, and many adventures ensue involving him, his goddess girlfriend, her older sister, and other unworldly friends.
Kōsuke Fujishima (藤島康介, born July 7, 1964) is a Japanese manga artist.
Born in Chiba, Japan, he first came to public attention as an editor of Puff magazine, his first job after completing high school. Fujishima originally intended to be a draftsman, but took the editorial role after failing to get a drafting apprenticeship. He later became assistant to manga artist Tatsuya Egawa in the production of the Making Be Free! manga, and in 1986 began his first original manga series You're Under Arrest. His second manga series Oh My Goddess!, also translated as Ah! My Goddess, is extremely popular and has made Fujishima a household name in Japan. In addition, he is also well known as the character designer for several games in the Tales RPG video game series and Sakura Wars.
He is known for his love of automobiles and motorcycles, and several of his series and their characters reflect this, such as in éX-Driver and Oh My Goddess!.
The battle against the Lord of Terror is over but there are repercussions, since now the three goddesses aren't in contact with the main system so they can't recharge their powers vital not only for their feats but also for their survival. Between all that, they will find fun situations and romance. Highly recommend.
World: Art style is starting to set in and that's awesome. The world building is basic but serves the story well.
Story: Beautiful slice of life stories that focus on the small little things in life and cherished emotions. First time we see Banpei and it's a small little story. I love this series and I'm biased.
Characters: The core of the series have settled in and it's great. It's an insanely slow build but for some reason I love this series for this reason. There is something about Keiichi and Bell that I like in it's pure and unironic way this book treats them.
This feels like an interlude to the next arc, since apparently this series is capable of that now.
Mara is back (again) and causes problems for our characters. This was a more light read than previous volumes. It’s like stuff happens, but also stuff doesn’t happen.
If you’ve been reading this series, you’ll probably like this volume.
In this volume, the sisterly bond continues to grow between all three girls. This volume introduces the very first Banpei, who is a staple in later Skuld featured stories and appears as a part of most of her future inventions.
Even though this edition indicates that some events have transpired between volume 1 (1-555-Goddess) and this volume (#7), the stories stand firm enough without the details of those events. Thus, easily 5 stars!
Belldandy's Tempestuous Heart: Urd is making a love potion for Keiichi. Skuld messes things up, though, without Urd knowing about it. Belldandy eats the result and asks Keiichi if he wants to go shopping. She starts coming on to Keiichi. Urd is able to fix things, but Belldandy still proclaims her love for Keiichi.
The Adventures of Mini-Urd is next.
The Queen of Vengeance: Belldandy is making a sweater for Keiichi, and he has a test coming up. Sayoto is drunk and shows up at Keiichi's. She arranges for Belldandy's sweater for Keiichi to be lost. She's still trying to take Keiichi away from Belldandy.
More Adventures of Mini-Urd.
The Man Who Invites Misfortune: Mara returns and wants to cause trouble but, as usual, things don't work exactly the way she planned. Mara has taken over Megumi's body. Sora is nearly killed. The Earth spirit that had been living at Megumi's tells Belldandy what has really happened.
Thank You: Skuld makes Mini-Banpei RX. Banpei is to be used to ward off Mara. Banpei does anything for Belldandy, but goes after Keiichi, Urd and Skuld. Banpei runs out of energy and loses his original memory, but a form of his memory is resurrected.
Goodbye and Hello: Urd's power returns, but she gets recalled to Heaven. The goddesses, Keiichi and Banpei construct a ward to keep away Mara, but to also stop Urd from being recalled. Mara interefers, but things still work out.
Really cute, but it makes me wish I understood engineering better. I have to say that I'm really curious about where Keiichi got the money to keep making the moon bracelets. I thought titanium wasn't cheap. Oh well, what do I know about metals? Maybe it's common left-overs from all of the other engineering projects. I don't know why I'm choosing to question this; I mean there are three goddesses with magical powers running around here. I don't think that I have my questioning priorities straight.
