Hendrik Magdalenus Bruna was een Nederlandse grafisch vormgever, tekenaar en schrijver van kinderboeken. Hij werd wereldberoemd met zijn kinderboekjes over nijntje.

Naar mijn kleinkinderen. Als uitleg Oekraïne. Ik zi ook in een rolstoel en heb een scootmobiel. Echt mooi vorm-gegeven.

I bought this while visiting the Netherlands recently - it's in Dutch, but simple enough to read with a little knowledge and Google Translate (as far as I know it's never been published in English). A sweet little picture book about inclusivity and not excluding people based on assumptions. If I had any criticism it would be that Bruna's distinctive simple illustration style doesn't translate brilliantly to human characters, especially on pale backgrounds but it doesn't detract from the story.

Also on our trip we learned that the Dutch for "wheelchair" is "rolstoel" (ROL-stool). Pleasing.
