This is a great resource from Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels about what and what not to eat. It is meant to be a companion book to "Master Your Metabolism" which apparently goes into quite a bit more detail about horomones within the body and how the foods you eat interact with them. Jillian briefly explains why certain chemicals in processed foods can affect your weight because your body simply does not know what to do with them. She gives a handy lists of chemicals that you can NEVER eat. I've been having a fun time since examining the foods I eat and seeing which of these I can find (example: Dyes. Blue 1 is in so many things! My friends at work are sick of me exclaiming, "Ahh! Red 40!") Anyway, the rest of the book is broken up into your basic food groups. Jillian believes in eating foods from all food groups but watching your sodium intake, particularly when you go to chain retaurants. She is also very into organic foods, so basically you either have to spend a ton of money on brands you've probably never heard of, or you have to just grin and bare "normal" foods. Still, the moral of the story is that this book is super handy for not only counting calories if you are dieting but also making you more aware of what is going into your body. I would definitely consider purchasing this book if you are interested in maintaining a healthy weight and eating habits.

I picked this book up @ work yesterday 'cause I love Jillian Michaels & I need all the tips & advice I can get. I'm looking to shed a few lbs. & this book is a quick read & is a great reference tool, especially for when dining out! For instance, I love to splurge @ Panera Bread on Sun. afternoons, & I was able to see how many calories I'm consuming when I eat my favorite lunch! I was encouraged to start eating organic, so I went grocery shopping tonight after work & bought ONLY organic food. ;-) I'm hoping to feel more energized after taking her advice.

I got this from the library and see that I will have to buy my copy to look at calorie counter; however, I hate doing calorie counts even when I tried to journal to see where all the weight gain was coming sporadically which has a part on what we eat, how much, and if we work out. I want to work on my metabolism and get lean if you know what I mean.

I wrote the main notes in the introduction and about how to remove, restore, and rebalance!

I didn't read every page. lots of skimming. she has an extreme take on dietary needs. Derek and I have adopted a few suggestions. I am reading food labels more often. Makes for interesting thinking.

I borrowed this from the library on my Kindle. Half of the book is basically a calorie counter for common and specific foods, which you can get on the food's label or else look online when you go out to eat.
