Worth The Flight: Worth Series Book 7: A Copper Country Romance is by Mara Jacobs. This book deals with second chances, abusive marriages, and divorced parents. It is well-written and realistic; but it doesn’t have the same emotional effect that the first books had.
Jess Chapman had come to Copper Country for several reasons. The first was because it was here she and her parents had one of their last vacations where Jess felt treasured by her Father. After this vacation, the family began slowly to break apart. It was here that Jess was introduced to Julie and the Wolves which led to her interest in wolves. After a bitter divorce and separation from her step-daughter, Jess became a park ranger and was assigned to Isle Royale, an island preserve which had the only pair of wolves still alive in this area. She built a house and became somewhat of a hermit except for her job.
Zeke Hampton had left the Navy after fourteen years of service. It was a surprise to everyone who knew him. However, Zeke had his reasons and he wanted to come home. He purchased a plane and a business from a friend and settled in to become a charter pilot during the tourist season. He loved flying and the outdoors and being his own boss, so this job fit. However, he also wanted what his friends had, a wife and family.
He took a flight for his friend and was flying Jess Chapman over Isle Royale to see if they could find the wolves and check on their wellbeing. When he first saw Jess, he was attracted to her and wanted to get to know her much better. He was surprised to have her invite him home that evening. Was his luck about to change?

It's been a while since I last picked up this series, and with the amount of name dropping I could see why I put it down. It was becoming heavy with the weight of past characters. What that did mean was I didn't have confusion as to who any of those characters were and got light recaps of their stories which I'd enjoyed.

I liked this romance, the relatively slow build of it, but one which was something quite different to what was hinted at from the blurb.

I felt frustrated at times that the characters seemed to be able to almost read each others minds, but still were making the choices they did.

What I really liked was the emphasis on consent, not just romantically, but across all aspects of the characters interaction. It's something I think is often missing in romance novels, but that we tend to overlook, because you pick up a romance to be swept off your feet. This showed you can be swept off your feet with consent firmly on the table.

Another wonderful read from Mara Jacobs. The Worth Series is one I look forward to. I loved catching up with several of the other characters we have met through this series, and loved the addition of Zeke, a former Navy fighter jet pilot with a heart of gold and a way with lines, and Jessica Chapman, a strong and independent park ranger who has closed off her heart from love. When these two meet, the chemistry seems right. So looking for a one night stand, when neither is looking for a long-term relationship or commitment, seems like the best option. But when the connection grows, when feelings become stronger, will the two be able to overcome the past? Will trust be found?

A sweet and romantic read about overcoming the past, embracing the present, and allowing the future to develop.

Worth the Flight

Zeke and Jess met while some was flying Jess around scouting some wolves. Their was attraction and Jess was looking for a one night stand but Zeke was no one night stand anymore. They both wanted different types of relationships but agreed that once they knew each other more they would just be sex buddies for now as far as Zeke was concerned. Jess had to many life disappointments to even try for a happily ever after but she wanted too.

Zeke was a one of a kind guy who wanted more but respected what Jess wanted. Now if he can prove to get somehow to just take a chance on them.

I like this series a lot and enjoyed Zeke and Jess' story a lot ..

Second First Chance

Zeke was on a mission.... Engage target and fire. All the shots in the world did not work on Jessica but the one blow delivered by Finn and Peter reloaded Zeke plane and successfully completed the mission.

I enjoyed returning to the UP and have to say Mara delivers on broken women with a purpose like no other. Regardless of their hang ups she still make the reader relate and hope for the best. I cheered Jessica on from beginning to end. Hoping she found peace and no longer allowed the fear of more to keep her isolated and resistant. I proved to not be disappointed and enjoyed the journey of her road to Zeke.

The next addition to the "Worth" series, and Jessica and Zeke do not disappoint. Zeke is a rather perfect hero. A retired Navy pilot, he comes back to the Copper Country to make his home among family and friends. And … he's ready to settle down and start a family. Unfortunately, the woman he can't get out of his mind has good reasons not to want to be in a committed relationship. However you can't stop romance from blossoming, can you? Read a good one in Mara Jacobs's latest. Highly recommended.

These books! I’m torn between 3 and 4 stars because I love the characters, I love the town, I love the stories - but there is so much potential that she just ignores! Like the stakes should be higher than they are and it just ... resolves itself. It’s anticlimactic - especially this one because she sets up an abusive ex husband storyline and calls with no one speaking etc and it all fizzles out. And Cassie. That should’ve been developed more too. On the other hand I love Zeke and Jess. Sigh.

Satisfying book

It was impossible not took root for them to make their relationship permanent. She was so traumatised by her previous marriage and before that her parents disastrous relationship, that she vowed to never marry or have a permanent relationship. But he fell in love. This is a well written story. Nice to have a competent writer...too many out there are not very good.

Fantastic Read. Another Great One.

Mara Jacob’s can keep me reading for hours. Intensely romantic, I love to follow the story because I went to MTU and worked there and in Copper Harbor. Just love the beautifully written stories. Thank you , Mara. Keep them coming about the Copper Country.

Enjoyable read. Welcome addition to the Worth series, and we get caught up on almost everyone from previous books. This seems to be a little more adult than the previous books, but it's done well. Likeable characters, well rounded character building, looking forward to the next edition.

This is the next book in the The Worth series by Mara Jacobs. I like all of the characters in the book and can't wait to read the next book and see which of the characters it will be about. They are fast and east contemporary romances.
