Carbon: An Unforgettable Adventure

The headline read, “Invincible Hero Fades Out”. Beneath it was a picture of a dark haired man. His face was serious and his eyes determined. It wasn’t a good shot, probably taken on the sly by some nosey reporter, but it was enough. Carbon slipped out of bed and turned on the light. Taking a sheet of thick drawing paper from her desk she drew the face of the man the article simply called Roper. Pulling the picture she had drawn earlier from her file box, she laid them side by side on the desk. It was little or nothing to go on. The prisoner could have been a thousand different people. She had no face to compare. Suddenly the image of the stranger in the alley came to mind and Carbon frowned thoughtfully. He was the only one who would know.
