Rather thin on the meatier facts, but if you loved the Apollo missions and the film Apollo 13 this is a good addition to your library. Some nice diagrams and accounts of the actual filming, but this is not a book for people who want the grittier details, or a more technical approach to writing.

Nice illustrations though and a fun read.

This book was a mess.

You get a little bit of spaceflight history, although I found multiple errors in the text. You get lots of NASA diagrams and flight transcripts that really aren't related to the story the author is trying to tell. Then you get a little bit about the making of the movie Apollo 13, which is one of my all time favorites.

This would have been much better if it had focused on the making of the movie. It felt like there was way too much filler and not enough story.

This might be attractive to the super space enthusiast, but probably nobody else.

This book is about 100 pages too long. It’s a fine series of interviews about the movie that has to be filled with incredibly generic summaries of the space program.

The chats with Howard, Kranz, and others are great, but the endless diagrams that aren’t related to anything are pretty annoying.
