Some of Eliot's sentences are so exquisite that I feel like I am listening to Mahler...but have mercy, it takes lots of time to get IN...Mill is beautiful in many ways. EG is writing 100 years ahead of her time. How she managed in the Victorian era is a marvel. It is a wonderful book to dissect...a favorite? no worth reading? absolutely...

I first read this story October 2011 in a different version. Maggie suffered too much things! It might be good when Tom called her "Magsie" at the end.
