Got this book in my last book order because, yeah, it's getting to be that time of the year, and there are many students in my school who I know I can hook with this book. It's a great book to introduce some of the wonderful language a child would know about deer hunting - (e.g., camouflage, antlers), but also has some neat facts that the students may not know about deer. The book does not get into the gore of hunting, but has a satisfying ending that will make the reader chuckle.

I knew this book well before it was ever officially published, which may make me somewhat partial to it. However, the concept of hunting and enjoying the outdoors has never been so eloquently protrayed to such a young audience before.

Beautiful photography, and a charmingly suspenseful and satisfying tale.
