Romano Tiziano thought owning a landscaping company was better than the bodyguard work he used to do, but who knew shrubbery and lawn care would have him on the run? After witnessing a prominent lawyer being killed, Romano thinks that Pride Pack Valley is the safest place to run. Memphis thinks that he can handle anything after being under Jackson's thumb…until he meets Romano. The man is arrogant, stubborn, and Memphis is going insane trying to deal with the man. And to top that, his other mate, Tabby, can't seem to stay out of the tavern. Tabby has landed in jail twice now for DUI. And he wasn't even behind the wheel! After his second arrest, he finds one tall and dark stranger trying to bail him out…and take him home. Can the three get their act together long enough to claim one another, or will their differences and blinding ways make them part company?
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
This was book 8 in the "Zeus's Pack" series. Romano Tiziano who is Dino's cousin was in the wrong place at the wrong time and now he is on the run from a couple of hit men. Tabby who has to be taken to the hospital in the last book liked his beer so much that he has had two dui when Romano gets to town these two hook up and have sex in his truck Tabby doesn't do the hook up thing and Romano only does them but something is different this time and he wants to spend more time with Tabby only he he doesn't get his name and Tabby disappears. When Memphis runs into Tabby he knows that he is his mate but Tabby is drunk and doesn't want anything to do with him. When Romano visits Dino at the house he runs into Memphis and Tabby. This was a pretty good read when the bad guys come for Romano they use Tabby who winds up getting hurt. When he recovers Tabby tries to prove that he isn't an alcoholic and they find out why he gets so drunk after two beers. This book had a few errors in grammar in it but it was minor. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
One of the more fun stories in this series, this one made me laugh at Tabby's antics several times. Memphis was also too full of himself to take seriously and Roman - well, he had his own issues (and wasn't too clever about solving them).
Memphis may be a 'wounded warrior', same as the other wolves who suffered under the mentally deranged Alpha Jackson, but his way of dealing with it is different from what I saw in the first seven books. He has basically decided that if he is in cotnrol of everything and everyone from now on, he will be safe. That, of course, is before he runs into his mates. His learning curve is steep once he does.
Roman is in big trouble - having witnessed a murder and the guys perpetrating it not liking that they have a witness. He runs to the only place he feels safe, and even though he knows that will endanger his cousin (Dino, from a previous book), he still does it. He thinks he is clever enough to lose the guys who are after him. Of course, once he finds his mates and discovers the hitmen are still after him, the sh*t really hits the fan.
Tabby is not really sure what he wants. He sort of falls for the two big guys, and seems to have a drinking problem, and nobody takes him seriously. Not that I can really blame them - Tabby's behavior is more than erratic. But he is sort of cute, and I guess that saves him more embarrassment and once he has his two mates on his side, nothing can harm him anymore.
If you like shifter stories, three-way relationships where two alphas battle it out before they understand they can both win, and if the story of Zeus’s pack interests you, you will probably like this book.
Having read all the books in this series this is my least favourite I found it difficult to get into the characters where as usually as soon as I start reading I find myself there with the characters this time I felt no connection. I have no doubt that this has nothing to do with the writing as I found the book easy to read and enjoyable but not one that I would feel inclined to go back and read again. Everything felt like it was happening too fast without anything to glue it together or bring the story in line with the others in the series. I have given this book 3 stars as although I had problems with the characters it was still a good book just not one of the best.
3.5 I was really looking forward to Tabby's story. Unfortunately for me this one wasn't as good as the others, I think so much time and energy was spent on the 2 alphas butting heads in the triangle that we didn't really get much of Tabby except for the drinking. He was around for 1 or 2 books previous so I expected to learn more about him but didn't really. Still a really good series.
I was looking forward to more of Tabby. You hear more about Memphis and Romano. You really don't see much of even Memphis. This one just didn't click for me.
Well, I delved into the Bracverse a 2nd time and now there are 121 books - yikes! I loved this Universe the first time I read it several years ago and now I love it more, I really do, but I've only been able to read these series (and I have expanded to all the books that are currently out in each): Brac Pack Christian's Coven Zeus's Pack Demon Warriors The Exiled
These are the series that start the Universe. Reading them in order is a must. Each book has it's own love story but there is an underlying story that plays out throughout them all. As you get towards the end of these series, other series come into play and I noticed that, since I did not read them, I missed some of the characters being mentioned (good and bad) but I was still able to follow because the main ones stay the same.
One day I WILL buy these and read them all!!! (For the correct order, just look on the Internet for Lynn Hagen Reading Order): Brac Village Shadow Tribe BPNG (Brac Pack Next Generation - Brac Pack kids) The Remus Brothers Wolves of Desire
This was simply awesome. Romano, Tabby(I thought that maybe he was a kitty shifter :D, but no), and Memphis(wolf) , are mates, however things do not fall into place easily for them as they do have some complex personal issues to deal with. I was totally pulled into this plot from beginning to end and I enjoyed the back and forth banter between Romano and Memphis since they didn't like each other from the start. There's action, mayhem, and lots of steamy passion. It was a tremendously fun, and fantastic read. :)
I do love these little books, they are like little bits of heaven and this one is just as good. I love how much Romano rubs Memphis up the wrong way and how tabby is the balance for them both. there is something very endearing about watching the struggle for dominance between the 2 alpha males and lets not for get it is hot too.
I like to read these little gems when I am feeling down or just want to smile because they always make me feel good and I know that once I start reading them I will have to read more but I will have to wait for the next one just a few weeks. Rave's story is due out in may and I cant wait, we got a little taster at the end of this one and boy it should be good!!
typical lynn hagen serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical lynn hagen? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).
out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by : lynn hagen stormy glenn scarlett hyacinth carol lynne gabrielle evans
unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win.
I just loved this book. The old alpha caused a lot problems emotionally to the pack. When Zeus took over he had a lot of wolves that needed to heal emotionally and physically. Memphis feminist with his two mates and had to learn to let them stand beside him instead of protecting by telling to stay out of harms way. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. Erin
Being in the wrong place at the wrong times does happen...having to run also happens. Meeting people who offer shelter and finding the courage to accept doesn't come easy. I liked the characters differences and similarities it was interesting to see them find their way.
An okay book. If not for my recent overdose on this author I might have enjoyed it more. I mean the relationship between those three was nice enough, as well as all their characters.
