A nice coverage of various administrative thinkers in an organized manner.
Now, this is a chalenging task of putting at one place the various comprehensive thoughhts into one place and at the same time make it understandable and interesting. Dr Prasad seems to have accomplished this job.
Though mostly recommended for students of public administration for acedemic or competitive learning this book can also serve the needs of other humanities like sociology, psychology, etc.
This books moves in a chronological order making the reader grasp clarity of gradual development of the discipline.
Read it if you wish to have a basic glimpse of the administrative thinkers from the origin of the discipline to contemporary times.

This book will be helpful for Graduate/ PhD students thinking of pursuing a degree in Government and Public Policy. The Administrative thinkers given in this book are the ones that are selected carefully and every aspect of bureaucracy has been discussed in detail. The various thoughts of the authors gives a deep level of understanding about the policy making and societal construction. Weber's thoughts on bureaucracy would send you back into the policy classes held in the university. Also the last chapter on Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar has discussed about the various political discussion in India and his experiences abroad which are interesting and informative.

A Perfect book for learning and understanding the word "Administration". Many thinkers from both technical and Arts background have explained their theories in this book. It gives us an in-depth understanding as why Administration is considered both as an arts and science subject. If you want to learn the core basics of Administration, this is the book you should read.
