pretty obscure Norse flavored fantasy from the 80s. This volume ( 2 of 3 ) thows in some Egyptian myth and an eccentric taoist monk type character. Absolutely loved it when I was younger. Have read it again since and it still holds up ok. This was the best of the 3 volumes in the trilogy for me. The last book - "Three Trumps Sounding" was maybe a bit ambitious and kinda went off the rails a bit.

A fantastic retelling and interpretation of the Norse gods saga. All the gods and monsters of myth are reset as new characters in a fantasy setting. Awesome trilogy. Highly recommended.
