Love it!!!
WOW, what a read!
I lost myself in this story, loved every bit of it, and definitely a book that gets your emotions going.
Ghost, aka Noah, is a totally swoony worthy, and you can not help but fall in love with his character.
Cassie, aka Leah, is a fiesty little fighter who knows her own mind.
They just fit together perfectly.
Loved how we get glimpses of some of our past characters.
This book as it all romance, suspense, drama, and angst.

Blast from the past....
How refreshing this book was.
I always wondered what Ghost and Cassies's story was after they featured in the previous book.
I was sucked from the start of this book. The banter between the 2 characters was very refreshing.
Oooo especially the Spicey scenes.
I was in a whole other world throughout this book.
I finished this in one sitting.
Karen as always, is brilliant. I always enjoy her books and the characters. There is always some part of the characters that can be related to.

ARC Review: When I first started to read I wasn’t exactly sure what was happening but knowing it noted ‘current day’ I took it in knowing something was coming. Then we go back 7 years ‘where it all began’ and boy did it. I enjoyed Cassie’s character as tough as her situation was with the senator and her family, she was strong and making the decision she did was the right one and of course it led her to ghost and the hot chemistry between them. I love reading a book where you can immerse yourself into the story and think “what would I do?” and I did that in this book. Good Job!

Better Day is a beautifully written story with a happily ever after. The journey we are taken on is dangerous, has drama and suspense, with the light of hope and promise of a forever love. Characters who’ve endured disappointment and grief, but found a way to the better days. They’ve had first hand experience with people who have let them down in the worst possible ways. Learning to trust again and allowing anyone close enough to you and those you treasure the most, takes a giant leap of faith. The lead female character is strong and sassy, but flip the coin and she’s gentle and kind. Whilst our leading man has many talents, he’s a computer hacking genius, with an eye for surveillance, who puts his life on the line for his clients. However Ghost has a very small circle of trust, but once you’re in and you’ve earned his loyalty he will do anything to protect you and your loved ones. With some cameo roles of characters from other series making it feel like a reunion.

Better Day is definitely a phenomenal read, but since I LOVE me some Karen Deen, I was never in any doubt. Cassie has entered the witness protection program to take her boyfriend down after she finally saw him for who he really was. That means there's suspense in spades since there's a real danger to her person if she's found out. Ghost is her protector, and this man is amazing, super smart, and will make sure to keep her safe, but it does get complicated since they're stuck in a house together with nothing much to do on their hands. The sparks are flying from close quarters & all, so it was only a matter of time before things started to happen. The heat is definitely on point between these two as they sizzled off the pages. Of course there's still that whole dangerous thing which brought the twists in hot, and really set off every last protective gene in Ghost, so it was a real page turner that had me in one position until every last page was devoured! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Thrilling book!
I absolutely fell in love with Cassie and Ghost.
Cassie finds out that her senator boyfriend is not who she thinks he is. She stumbles upon some incriminating evidence and decides to turn it over to the FBI. She knows this will change her life and she will have to go into the witness protection program.
Ghost is assigned as the WITSEC Officer to protect Cassie. When Ghost first sees Cassie something deep inside his soul stirs. He’s immediately drawn to her and knows he will do anything to protect her. Cassie is also drawn to Ghost.
During the course of him protecting her his boss comes to him and tells him they want Cassie in Washington to testify. Ghost’s boss feels something is not right and Ghost agrees. They know there is a hit out on Cassie’s life and feel she being drawn out of hiding. Ghost feels his only chance to protect her is to go on the run till he can figure this out.
Don’t want to give away the whole storyline. So you need to read this exciting story of their journey on the run. It will keep you so drawn in to their story. Many twist and turns, love, loss, heartbreak, betrayal and passion. Ghost and Cassie are scorching hot. You will not want to put this book down. Karen Deen did an outstanding job. Definitely 5 stars!!!!

Better day
This is the first book by this author that I've read, and what a fantastic story this is. This is the incredible story of the character CAssie and Ghost, Ghost is her protector, and the sparks fly from there. These two characters have an instant connection and off-the-charts chemistry between them. You instantly fall in love with these two characters from the start of the book. This story is filled with suspense, drama, angst, and passion. Once you pick this book up, you won't want to put it down.

Better Day has lots of suspense, drama, romance & angst. Karen takes us into the lives of Ghost & Cassie who are brought together through witness protection & protect her is Ghost's only priority... that is until he falls in love with her & she is his whole world then his protection becomes his passion.
Together through their love they fight through all the obstacles that their dangerous situation has placed them. We are reintroduced to past characters from That Day & the Chicago Boys series which was interesting to see how those relationships unfolded & with the help of friends & the love these two share , they overcome all the odds that were against them.

I absolutely loved this book. It was the ultimate story of two people - Noah and Cassie - finding such a great love together in such difficult circumstances.
Cassie meets Noah when he is assigned to her as her WITSEC officer to protect her, after she goes to the FBI with information on her boyfriend Jason who is a Senator. The attraction is there from the start and continues to build until they finally can't fight it any longer even though this is the last thing Noah should be doing.
Their journey is a difficult one but with a bond that cannot be broken and has everything a love story can have - suspense, drama, love and passion.
This is definitely one to read and a 5* rating.

This book got everything: love, family, suspense, twists...

This book is my first by Karen Deen, but it will definitely not be my last. What an introduction to her writing. This book is spicy, sassy, slightly suspenseful, angsty, but also full love hope, light and love.
Cassie, after being betrayed be her ex gives him up. Making her go on the run. She then meets Ghost her protector, knight in shining armor. The push, pull, tension, chemistry these two have is hot. We follow along in the book as they try to do the right thing and fight of their feelings until they can’t anymore. They have to let down their walls that have been full of betrayal, hurt, loss and heartbreak. This book gets spicy, dangerous and is a page turner really quick. Loved to see that they found the light at the end of some dark roads. Amazing read!

Karen, you have once again wowed me with your story telling magic. Ghost and Cassie are filled with so many emotions. Ghost is a protector, a strong silent man that is given an assignment. He needs to protect and keep his focus what he wasn't expecting was her. Cassie finds out that her senator boyfriend has deep dark secrets and when she stumbles across things, she should have never seen she is now in danger. She is placed in a protective custody and that brings Ghost into her life. Ghost has never taken an assignment personally, but Cassie will be more than his downfall and everything he never thought he could have. Loved their slow steady burn, intense chemistry and amazing story keep me on the edge of my seat!! Loved them.

Better Day is well written with an engaging storyline.
I love how other characters from the Chicago Boys series feature in this book as I was very sad to finish those books and need to wait until the new year for the next book.
The relationship between the characters makes you wish you have friends like Ghost and Cassie do, knowing they have got your back no matter what. The plot in the book bringing Ghost and Bull back together was a great touch after being introduced to their relationship in That Day book.
The development of the relationship of Ghost and Cassie was lovely to follow and seemed a natural progression.
Another great book by Karen Deen.
Highly recommend especially if you enjoy TL Swan books.

I loved the story of Ghost and Cassie. It was a VERY steamy romance with a suspenseful storyline that made me fly through the pages. This made the story even more enjoyable as it was not your “run of the mill romance”.
Cassie and Ghost meet when she is put into Witness Protection and Ghost becomes her protector and what an incredible protector he was! He went to the “ends of the earth” to keep her safe.
It was wonderful to be reunited with characters from previous books and to see how pivotal they were in the lives of Ghost and Cassie.
I highly recommend this well written beautiful story of finding love when you feel all hope is lost!

Being that this was my fist time reading one of Karen Deen’s romances I really did not know what to expect. But Better Days was truly one of the best books I’ve read in such a long time . Filled with intrigue, suspense, angst , humor , witty banter , twists and turns , second chances, love , passion , secrets , non stop action, awesome world building, off the charts chemistry, danger, betrayal , two of the most wonderfully written characters you’ll ever meet and a storyline that’s going to keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish , that’s going to make you smile , make you cry and have you rooting so so hard . I have definitely found myself a new favorite author

I loved this story! It was full of so many emotions and it was off the charts hawt!🔥🔥. Ghost - a strong alpha male with absolutely no idea of what true love is….until his work assignment brings him Cassie. Cassie is strong, even though her life has been a series of unfortunate events. But true strength sometimes lies in allowing someone to help, a lesson both Ghost and Cassie will learn. I really thought I knew how this story would go…..but I was oh so wrong. There was definitely a little curve in that ride my heart took when I read it! Absolutely one of my favorites this year!

Cassandra goes to the FBI with information about her senator boyfriend and she is placed into witness protection. Noah / Ghost is assigned to protect Cassie, and he will do whatever he must to keep her safe. This is a well written story which is action packed, with drama, danger, suspense, loss, grief, twists, betrayal, passion, heartbreak, tragedy, healing, romance, witty banter, and love, which leads to an entertaining, steamy, and unpredictable page turner.

What a page turner!
I was so excited to read Ghosts story, I just knew I wouldn't be disappointed!
Karen has made him my perfect guy and Cassie is one heck of a lucky lady. There connection is instant but their relationship becomes far from simple.
Will their love for each other be enough as Cassies past starts to blow up around them. Will Ghost be able to protect her?
No spoilers from me but this book is a must read, a page turner with twists and turns.

What a beautiful story. Cassie needs protecting and Ghost is the protector. Both of them, with the weight of the world, don’t expect the powerful connection and chemistry they share. But life is difficult and they have a lot of battles to fight. This reads a bit heavy, as there is an intensity over the whole book. But the two of them working through everything together is beautiful and well worth the read. Truly powerful.

Wow what a read. This would had a bit of everything, romance, suspense and thriller. Cassie needed protection from her ex partner and up steps Ghost. The book follows their story and Karen even manages to through in some older characters. You don’t have to read the previous books but it would help with some of the side characters. Great book

Their relationship is one filled with fire and Ghost will do whatever it takes to keep Cassie safe.

Cassie is under protection as she works to get evidence on her boyfriend for his disgusting behavior. Ghost is her protector and a hacker. He also finds himself attracted to her which is a no go in his line of work. This is a story of two people that have been let down by those they trusted and are learning to trust again. I absolutely loved this book by Karen. Noah and Cassie meet when he is assigned to look after her in the witness protection program. With so much drama unfolding around them, they go underground where their chemistry heats up. This book was well written and just so enthralling. I look forward to reading more from Karen.
