Rate this book
Carl Weber has the touch when it comes to matching up today's best urban romance writers for his compulsively readable anthologies. Full Figured 4--Plus Size Divas is one of the best!
?Bestselling author (and full-figured model) Anna J contributes the sassy sizzler "Somebody Else's Guy." Wealthy, powerful hair salon owner Valencia McKoy is not quite so self-assured when it comes to her stunning full figure. When her marriage to star stockbroker Sean falls apart, so does she. . .which leads her to the couch of Dr. Alexander Thornton III, a renowned psychiatrist. Can he help Valencia learn to love her bod--without crossing the professional line? He can't help but notice her alluring curves, and the way Valencia sees it, he may just be Dr. Right!
?Natalie Weber (Bi-Curious) rounds out the volume with the riveting "Three the Hard Way." Amber Couture has a curvaceous, bountiful body and an ego just as big. Juggling three adoring men is all in a day's play, but now she's got her hands full with Trevor (the heat between the sheets), Stephen (the cash to keep Amber in bling) and Robert (the nice guy who's determined not to finish last). Amber's playing with fire--and she just might get burned!

Anna J. started writing as a child, creating short stories in her creative writing classes. This later turned into writing poetry in high school. In her early twenties she entered a short story contest, and her first work of fiction "Stories To Excite You: Menage Quad" was published. Always an avid reader, Anna J. saw a void in the industry. The types of books she wanted to read hadn't been written yet. With that in mind, she penned her first book "My Woman His Wife", published in 2004, which quickly became an Essence Magazine best seller. Anna J went on to pen 12 novels. She also participated in 9 short story compilations, and self-published 9 works of fiction.
Anna J. Is currently at work on future releases.

Didn’t hold my interest

The first story was pretty decent but that last story was just boring and drawn out without a good plot

The 1st one was ok, love the way she gain her confidence back & didn't settle. However the 2nd one, had me laughing. Was they all trying to get to her money & trying her like that because she was a plus size woman? Then her boyfriend was white that didn't know how to fuck? Lmao. Sorry for my language. Besides that, I like the way it ended: the dad putting a grown woman on Money punishment & how the "Bonnie & Clyde" couple got scammed out of the money as well.

I give the first story a 5, but a zero to the second story. The second story was just too much for me. It was just so over the top with the stupidity that I was tempted to stop listening several times. I did not like the main character's cluelessness or perhaps it was too much confidence in power of money and sex in most absurd way. I don't know but I didn't like that story at all.

Easy breezy read. I love reading about plus size women as one, but sometimes the obsessive self-loathing and blame of weight on love challenges is annoying.

With it being two stories in one, I really like the mellowness of the first story and really rowdy with plenty of betrayal with the last. It gave what it needed to give.

I don't like this book, don't completely hate it but i am not a fan. I would have given the book two and a half stars but I actually like the first story which gave the book the three. I had a number of problems with this book. So let me start with the first story which was the better of the two for me.

So the first story "Someone Else's Guy". The story wasn't actually that bad. The opening of the story was pretty good, in which the main character catches her husband in bed with another woman and she pretty much threatens to shoot him and his mistress if they don't leave out of the house. Once again that was all fine in the book and I'm sure the story would have gotten better if they didn't have all the boring flashbacks. One flash back of the first date and little mentions of the other dates would have done just fine. I nearly skipped the first story after I started to read the 3rd flashback but decided to read all the way through. It was a good thing I did because the story did get better. However it didn't get better until almost the 70th page, she could have used the other pages to I don't know put a little action in there or make the husband of the main character to become like a stalker or something. Other then that I feel the story was an okay read and only because of the last 60 pages or so of that story.

Now the second story "Three the hard way". I hated that story with a passion, I have no idea why i read that whole story. It wasn't written horribly as far as words or grammar but as far as content it was horrible. I feel like it didn't make that much sense when you think about it. You have Amber a seemingly smart Vice president of a car dealership and three sexual interest Trevor(the thug), Stephen(boyfriend) and Robert(the nice guy she should've got with). You would think that with Amber being raised mainly by her father and in a male dominated profession that she would be a little bit smarter about the choices she made. First let me talk about her choices in men. You would think that she would be smarter about the men she chose, for one her boyfriend Stephen. She constantly invests money through her boyfriend in order to get money for the investments she had made but brushes off the fact that he never gives her a check for the investments she made.I repeat she's a business woman and any business woman would have had broken up with him and sued him for the money and any business woman, a smart one, wouldn't have mixed business with pleasure in the first place. Secondly the minute that she finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her, her first idea is not to break up but to get pregnant by him so he will marry her. I know that some women in real life think like that but most women who are as smart as Amber is portrayed know that having a baby won't keep a man. Secondly a woman that smart wouldn't have put up with a cheater period.

Now the thug named Trevor. She knew from the start that Trevor was who he was and still choose to mess with him anyway. She should've at least been cautious when messing with him "like a woman in her position" would have done!

Thirdly Robert, the guy with a possible bad past but the awesomely nice guy. I understand that Amber might not have been attracted to him simply because he was a nice guy but she could have at least given him a chance. The one guy in the novel who doesn't want anything from her but time to get to know her, she just about ignores. Then at the end of the story from what is implied she plans to go into a scheme with her father to some how swindle the one guy that actually gives a damn about her.

If you're lost than let me bring it home. I've met actual Daddy's girls as well as have been one myself, and can say from experience that no Daddy's girl in their right mind with lots of arrogance, would want to be with a man that cheated on her nor would she think that a baby would keep a man around. So the character Amber in general wasn't believable, neither was her father.

Tried to finish the second story but couldn’t. I mean the boyfriend was trying to scam her and had a side chick. the other people, they were just trying to play the fat girl because she was the fat girl. I mean she have plenty of confidence in herself. She was quite happy with herself. She was just very gullible. That’s the best way to say it. The first story, she catches her husband cheating he kept trying to put blame on her but yet kept trying to get back with her and she just put her foot down and said no and walked away from it. So the first one was great.
The second one I just can’t. I got to the part where the worker who basically was just trying to get at her the whole time just to get her money. Her boyfriend is a con artist and cared about nothing else I just can’t. She was just shelling out money left and right without really thinking.

The 2.5 stars is for Anna J's story. She never disappoints and her story was well written and engaging. I've tried to read Natalie Weber before. I couldn't get through the full length book of hers I started last year. I got through this only because I didn't want to leave it unfinished as well. Besides the myriad of issues I had with the story, and writing... It didn't even deal with being full figured. It was mentioned a few times (along with her eating a lot-which... I don't know). I'm not plus sized. But, I know everyone that isn't a size 2 isn't scarfing down mass amounts of food all the time.

I liked the first story "Someone Else's Guy" by Anna J. better than the second story "Three the Hard Way" by Natalie Weber. I was glad that in the first story Valencia didn't stay with Sean after catching him in their bed with his assistant. Also it irritated me that he wouldn't sign the divorce papers. In the second book I was glad that Amber was "put on punishment" so that she would learn how to control the way she handled money and things like that. And also that Robert came back and was gonna be in her life.

Someone Else's Guy: this story was weak. I was unable to care about the main character. She was forgettable. So forgettable that I can no longer remember her name. I wanted to be sympathetic towards her but I just didn't care.

Three The Hard Way: this was interesting. I enjoyed reading it and actually couldn't wait to see what happened next. Amber was an airhead but she was interesting. Aside from the continuity issues, obsession with tissue paper and the weak subplot with Trevor, this was good. I'd actually be interested in find out what develops between Amber and Robert.

2 stories. 2 lessons. First lesson, when you are confident in yourself other people's opinions dont matter. Second lesson, money cannot replace brains. All choices come with a cost.

You have 2 different stories about 2 plus sized women and how they try to navigate their love life in this crazy world. Very cute stories and I enjoyed them.
