In his book debut, author John Kim introduces readers to his techniques and therapeutic philosophy. The book's "self help in a shot glass" system provides a clear, concise method for healthy personal growth, while achieving an enjoyable read. Breaking down traditional barriers, Kim explains how he developed his system through his clinic work, life coaching, and his experiences, sharing stories from his own life. Kim's writing style creates a highly relatable and practical system for the reader to follow, while providing laughs and smiles along the way.
Quick snack sized bites of wisdom about being your authentic self. I was actually pretty happy to find myself reading a good deal of this and saying to myself, "yep, this is what you've been doing for the past year." It felt more like healthy validation for how my life has progressed recently than new advice. It's a quick read and definitely worth reading. :)
I found the author's blog and started following that before I even read the book. Once I had the pleasure of reading the bite-sized portions of help, I knew I'd found the right place, the right therapist and the right book for me at a time of self-discovery. Transparency is a book I go to often to remind me of what's really important. I love this book and highly recommend everyone read it. It applies to anyone! @angrytherapist
This no nonsense approach to relationships and individual authenticity is more of a manual on how to do life than a self help book. It is a must read for anyone who doesn't have a perfect life. It is therapy. Honest and refreshing therapy in a little book you can read in about an hour but will want to carry in your back pocket wherever you go. I applaud and thank John Kim for his genuine concern for his fellow man and his part in trying to make this world a better place.
