I've dogged this series (rightly so, in my opinion) volume after volume, so I will try and stick to the positives, which might help to explain why I'm still reading it; well the biggest reason I have persevered is that there are only 12 volumes :D Truly in end game, the Deadman Wonderland facility has been vacated, with prisoners and employees removed and many Deadmen sent into rehabilitation. Our protagonists research all the data collected and realise that they have to go back to the prison to deal with the Red Man once and for all; and Ganta knows that despite the massive twist in the previous volume, he has to kill the Red Man. Some interesting twist and turns sees an allied group of the protagonists seek to take down the big bad villain... wake me up when it's over. A Two Star, 4 out of 12.

This volume is amazing even though nothing much happened!
Ganta finally gets out of his trance, i liked the way he got shocked this time. this is pretty significant on a personal level for him.
We learn a lot of things, and they finally got into what i have said before.
Shiro is an innocent girl who have been experimented on for most of her life she has suffered so much pain.
We learn more about the story of sorae igarachi which as an amazing story.
We learn that toto sakigami is actually a girl !!! and that he is actually rinchiro hagire the maker of the wretched egg, i am sure they might have hinted to that before or something, but i totally forgot or didn't pay enough attention, that someone has actually taken over Toto's body and mind.
I even read through half the next volume yesterday and it is one of the best origin stories we will ever read i almost cried in public you bastards!!!
We are in for a treat in volume 11

A very dark and dreary manga that takes on a whole new meaning to action. Deadman Wonderland raises the bar for dystopian manga in my opinion and I like it! Some scenes made my stomach roll (which is difficult to do) so this isn't for the faint of heart and really not recommended for those under 16. Otherwise definitely read it if you think you can stomach the blood and limbs flying everywhere. But I definitely dive into this kickass story. You will be rooting for every character as they fight for their lives!

The mystery! Why Ganta's mother built the system? Where is Ganta's father? What is Shiro? What is Toto? So many questions ! I hope we get the answers to them.
So far the mystery and dread makes the story going.. now Ganta and his friends have to destroy the system which created Red Man. I hope Shiro doesn't die!

Shiro seems gone forever and Ganta's mother is more involved that anyone knew. So much revolves around this poor kid. The whole story is yet to be revealed as his team tries to not worry him further with the truth. Several flashbacks of Ganta and Shiro's childhoods.

The main crew of deadmen have teamed being to team up for a final confrontation! The series is starting to get a bit stretched at this point and my interest is slowly waning. Right now it seems like it is either wrapping up of drifting, lost, between story arcs.

I was scared for a second that Senji was going to bite the dust but thankfully he's still breathing. I can already tell the last three books are going to be a roller coaster. This volume was a bit slow paced but I know it's setting up for an epic finale. Here's hoping my favorite characters live through it.

Just when I thought the story was over, the main characters decide to go back to deadman wonderland and avenge not only those who'd been wronged but also themselves. SPOILERS AHEAD We finally get confirmation that Shiro is wretched egg and she has some sort of split personality disorder. What's even more surprising is the revelation that Ganta's mom is the reason behind this whole ordeal and also probably the reason why Ganta survived this long. We got a lot of backstory which was of course the stem of the suspense I've had this long and much less action. Character development was minimal though we do have a character who possesses most branches of sin and who is hence unbeatable except in a situation whereby Ganta uses his unique ability to counter such a formidable opponent. The whole point of the story now is to destroy wretched egg to prevent any further harm from coming to Nippon. I don't yet quite understand the whole mother goose concept and am still curious about the red man. I'm sure I'll learn all I need to soon enough. 3 volumes to go! Not much unlike how Harry Potter survived Voldemort due to his mom's love however in this case Ganta is both the hero and the villain I suspect and his mom created the plot and is by now ready to get it over and done with.

Volumes 1-9 of Deadman Wonderland finished the first arc of the series: Ganta going to prison and meeting all the deadman as well as Shiro and then breaking out at the end. With Volume 10, we start the next arc of the series: going back in to destroy the Wretched Egg/Shiro.

Story: Ganta is fairly broken even though he is pardoned and is free. The other deadmen, his friends, are also living in commuted sentences or free. But life outside can never be what it was before they went into the prison and each is finding it particularly hard to adapt. When Makina gives them an offer to go back in and destroy the wretched egg, all take her up on the offer except Ganta. He's still reeling from the knowledge that everything he cared about was destroyed by the one person he trusted in Deadman Wonderland: Shiro. But can Makina succeed without Ganta?

The next arc looks to be about Ganta's strange branch of sin and what his mother, Sanae did to both him and Shiro. When Sanae's notes from the research are found, Makina will perhaps have the tools she needs to destroy Shiro once and for all. But for Ganta, can he truly believe they will all get out alive?

This new arc looks to be interesting and there are several key players all manipulating Ganta and Shiro. Since it is a new arc, those who haven't been keeping up with the previous volumes can pretty much start here again and pick it right up. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

Ganta is finally deemed innocent of the crimes he was framed for but he cannot seem to move on with his life knowing that Shiro is Wretched Egg and killed all of his classmates. Karako and Makina go around trying to convince the deadmen to go back to Deadman Wonderland to fight one more time. Toto is trying to figure out how to shut down the Mother Goose system but nothing seems to be working. Meanwhile Makina and the deadmen are ready to head to Deadman Wonderland and Ganta seems to have completely done a 180 and is now ready to kill the Wretched Egg. However things begin to change and progress quickly once they arrive at Deadman Wonderland.

This was another great volume with a lot going on. While this volume was nowhere near as violent as the last volume there are a lot of twists and turns throughout especially with the revelation to everyone else who the Wretched Egg's identity is as well as who created Wretched Egg. I felt that this volume ended too quickly and really left you hanging and ready for the next volume.

Poor Ganta has to deal with the love of his life being evil. This volume really focuses on the aftermath of the whole thing. With Shiro being evil, this brings Ganta to a broken level. However the more you get in to it you see Ganta finally making a stand. The ending wants to get you hyped, and it does it well.

So, finally free of Deadman Wonderland, Ganta tries to function in the regular world. We also see other freed former inmates attempting the same. Surprise! They don't belong there anymore. So recruited by the old Captain of the Guard they volunteer to return to Deadman Wonderland in search of The Wretched Egg.

The storyline is better handled than that glib summary I just provided. Ganta in particular is believably shown to be struggling with everything that has happened to him and especially with last volumes big revelation of the identity of The Wretched Egg. The rest are shown in similar situations mostly by association through a brief montage sequence of their "lives" outside of Deadman Wonderland.

After all the time they've devoted to character in this manga it gets short-shrift here in order to get the gang back into Deadman Wonderland for more adventure. Hence four instead of five.

Once they get there...stuff happens. And stuff.

After a period of relative peace for the Deadmen that are struggling to adapt to the outside world, Makina wants to reunite a group of volunteers to return to the ruins of DW to destroy the wretched egg. When Karako approaches Ganta to invite him to join them, he refuses. Nobody except him know the identity of the wretched egg.

Ganta will have to come to terms with his self doubt and accompany the group if he ever wants to save Shiro from the grasp of the true enemy of this sordid tale.

Like the previous volumes, the artwork doesn't disappoint, the pace of the story is more fluid and believable and we get to enjoy much more character development. I'm truly enjoying this arc.

Появился новый главный злодей. Это подружка школьника, какая неожиданность. И она хочет уничтожить всех человеков. Почему? Потому что. Действительно, зачем прописывать мотивацию персонажу?

И сверх-люди собрались и пошли на штурм DW для того, чтобы победить этого злодея.

Теперь ещё в сюжете появились безумные учёные с безумными экспериментами. Действительно, зачем нужно адекватные персонаже? Ведь чем больше безумных, тем лучше!

Another good volume. I definitely like the direction that the story is going in. It's taking time to show the characters' reactions to everything that is happening, and it highlights a core theme of understanding others that has been present throughout the series. I hope that we get more flashbacks and less info dumps, and again, I still think that side characters could have more development because they have a lot more potential than what is being shown now.

In this, the 10th edition of Deadman Wonderland by Jinsei Kataoka, former inmates of the Deadman Wonderland prison along with the former security chief return to overcome the evil being that killed the middle school class of our hero, Ganta Igarashi. The artwork is interesting and the story moves well.

Not much happens in this issue, but its good set up for the next couple of books. Ganta is no longer the only one who knows about Shiro. The team is going into Deadman Wonderland to shut it down, but Rinichirō (in Toto’s body) has different plans for Ganta, the key to the entire Deadman Wonderland system.
