The book was okay. Although Red had her betrayal ways, I want to see her win. I like Q’s character as well but he doesn’t trust Red so any little thing sets him off. It just goes to show how trust is one of the things you need in a relationship for it to prosper. Looking forward to reading the next book.

Vickie Stringer's sequel to the immensely popular Dirty Red, Still Dirty picks up right where its predecessor left off. After just escaping death at the hands of Bacon, Quentin a.k.a. Q and Red manage to make their escape onto a private plane with Bacon hot on their heels. Readers of the last installment will recall that Bacon was totally justified in his anger towards Red for squandering away his money and stealing his book royalties while he was incarcerated. Red was extremely dirty, truly earning her moniker, not only by double crossing Bacon but almost every person she ran across in part one including Kera, Sasha, Terry, and Blue.
In Still Dirty everyone is hip to Red's games including her lover Q but somehow he feels that Red is capable of turning over a new leaf. Red's attempt at going straight is short lived because once her funds run low she's back up to her old tricks again. While Kera, Sasha, Terry, and Blue try to move on with their lives and get past Red's indiscretions, Bacon isn't so willing to let bygones be bygones. In Still Dirty he re-invents himself all the while planning his revenge against Red. And with all the dirt that Red's done it's high time that she finally gets what's coming to her. Can Red once again come up smelling like roses? Or will her dirty past catch up with her? The answers all lie within the pages of Still Dirty.
What did you like best about the book?
The closure it provided. Still Dirty was highly anticipated because of the longing to see if the characters from part one could recover from the situations that associating with Red put them in. The book did re-visit almost every character that got caught up in Red's vicious web of deceit.
What did you dislike about the book?
The secondary characters that had excellent story lines in part one were almost non-existent in part two. The plot centered on Red and her attempt at trying to go straight which left the book noticeably absent of the griminess of the first novel. Readers looking for the same grittiness that was found in Dirty Red will be disappointed.
How could the author improve the book?
A title adjustment, while I understand that Red was attempting to experience personal growth, the title of the novel, Still Dirty, alluded to Red still being that chick from part one, which she wasn't. A simple question mark at the end of the title, Still Dirty?, could have better helped readers prepare for Red's transformation and the lack of dirtiness found in part two.

This book series has me hooked ! When I think Red cannot get more low or do any more dirt she does ! This author knows how to write a book that keeps the reader hooked. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

A bruised and battered Raven "Red" Gomez finds herself on a flight with her `today' love, Q, as they barely escape the angry, betrayed Bacon. Red is reaping a lot of the treacherous lifestyle that she has sown over a period of time, and it's not a good look nor a perfect fit! Q is pissed off as he discovers just how manipulative and cunning Red really is and has plans to ship her sheisty ace back to the states ASAP. Meanwhile back in the states, a vengefully distraught Bacon catches a cab to Foxy's for a little forbidden sex, ego-stroking, and info on the street action. Bacon treks back to his home and encounters the new owner, who happens to be his long lost homeboy, Maurice, a professional basketball player now. The two team up as Reece introduces Bacon, now known as Isadore, to a finer way of living the life of luxury.
Mekel has made Kera the new 'wife' upon Terry's botched kidnapping scheme. The couple are enjoying each other as they bask in the glow of parenthood. Mekel is still haunted by the memories of his past with Terry and is second guessing some of the choices he made that may have forced Terry to desperate actions.
Ms. Stringer has called her readers back as she finishes the sordid tale of Raven `Red' Gomez and the many friends and foes that fall victim to her carnivorous lifestyle. As a sequel, she does indeed tie all loose ends. But as exhilarating a read as Dirty Red was, Still Dirty is lacking the original excitement and suspenseful nuance with the true gangsta mentalities that past characters exuded with the first introduction. Basically all the characters are weak, Red is inconsistent in her actions, and even the suspense is shallow. I recommend it for all that want to know if Red finally got back some of the dirt that she so callously dished out.

I Loved This Book It Has Alot of drama and suspense in it. In Still Dirty everyone is in on Red's games including her lover Q but somehow he feels that Red is capable of changing. Red's attempt at going straight is short because once her funds run low she's back up to her old tricks again. While Kera, Sasha, Terry, and Blue try to move on with their lives and get past Red's dirty ways, Bacon isn't so willing to let it go. In Still Dirty he re-invents himself all the while planning his revenge against Red. And with all the dirt that Red's done it's high time that she finally gets what's coming to her. " I do what i want when i want " This is one of my favorite quotes because she's right she can do what she want's but what she do get's her involved in deep issues. I would reccommand this book to people who like reading urban books.

May 1, 2010this book is a fast read i started it 2 days ago and i'm already on page 113. i like the fact that it has moments of flash backs from original book to kind of remind u why all the drama is going on in this one. The chemistry between Q AND RED is something i think we all long for even if the circumstances aren't quite as messed up. Someone who will still be in your corner and love you no matter how jacked up you may be or how bad u messed up.. i can't wait to see if Red is going to get caught by Bacon, the one she screwed over or if she is going to be the death of Q since they are back in Detroit now.... TENSION. Finished it and looking for the 3 book of this series, its so addicting

I actually enjoyed this follow up more than the original book. It had so much action and revenge. I loved it. I found myself really rooting for Bacon this time around though. And Q, whose name seem to bounce around between Quentin and Quincy, I loved him in this book too, I kept waiting for him to find out just how DIRTY Red was. This is a really nice read, I finished it in a day when I usually only read my books for a couple hours a day and it takes 5 days to finish.

This book pulls you in with the plot and due to the fact its a part to another book you should read the first one but you dont have to. The ending sort of makes you mad though. I didnt like it. But i liked the book

Red is still dirty and sneaky af . sasha dead ? woah. I had a feeling Mekel would go back to Terry. Kera fucked up and broke girl code. I hope Q don't die. he doesn't deserve it . This book bipolar af and these characters so hot and cold you can't tell what they gonna feel next.

I read this series over 20 years ago, and it still resonates with me all these years later. This was my first read with a vengeance story where the two main characters weren't playing no games- not with each other, and not with anyone else.
