Ruth earned a B.A. in American Thought and Civilization from George Washington University and an M.A. in American Studies from the University of Maryland. Although she always wanted to become a writer, Glick was convinced that her lack of spelling skills meant that her goal was unattainable. As a stay-at-home mother, she took a community college course to help her choose a career. The course made it very clear that writing was her primary interest. Glick began writing articles for newspapers and magazines, but after several years decided to try writing fiction. Her first book, a kids' science fiction book, was finally purchased by Scholastic Inc..
Since then, Glick has become a highly successful author of over 50 romantic suspense and paranormal novels. Many of her novels are published under the Harlequin Intrigue line, and in June 2003, she became one of the first authors published under Berkley's new Sensation imprint. Before 1997, she often collaborated with Eileen Buckholtz and Kathryn Jenson.
Glick also is a highly regarded author of cookbooks focusing on healthy eating. She sometimes hires trained chefs to test the recipes that she creates, and makes sure that every recipe is tested at least three times before it appears in one of her cookbooks.
Glick is the head of the Columbia Writers Workshop. She and her husband, Norman Glick, live in Columbia, Maryland, where Ruth collects rocks, and enjoys cooking, walking, reading, gardening, travel, and Mozart operas. They have two grown children, Elissa and Ethan, and two grandsons (Jesse and Leo).

I really enjoyed the first half of the book. Anna Ridgeway is a good character who kept me reading to the end. Overall, a good romantic suspense with paranormal touches.

Wheeeeeewwwwewwww this took me a really long time to finish for several reasons. The book starts out pretty slow and didn’t make a whole lot of sense. And now I understand that there is multiple in this series and I did not read the first installment, but this one was just downright confusing in the beginning. I did not hold my interest at all at first.
There were several things I like, and dislike about this book. To be honest I did start skimming around 63% just because the details became weird and unimportant in my opinion. It just was very wordy. The antagonist in the story was just very bizarre. If you have ever seen the movie Midsommer, it really reminds me of that. The whole book essentially is about (media portrayed) paganism, and a man worshiping some very strange goddess, and trying to take her and rape her in front of a crew of people who will then partake in an orgy of their own.
I will say that about halfway through a lot of interesting things happen that kept it interesting enough for me to keep reading, which is why I was able to finish the last half of it in just a few hours, that’s not to say that I would be interested in the rest of the series though.
I am all for a good smutty read, but this was just ridiculous. The sex between the two of them was very strange and a little bit uncomfortable. I get the author, was trying to incorporate there, psychic powers into every aspect that she possibly could, but at one point, It just felt forced and very strange.
Overall, I’m giving this book 3 stars and I definitely wouldn’t revisit this or the rest of the series unfortunately.

This book was so much like her previous book that I couldn't even finish it, and the 1st one I read wasn't very good either. She may do better with her moon series, but the two I have read have convinced me that there are other so much better psychic stories out there. The sex scenes are just too weird, with both both partners feeing each other's pleasure. I don't know why, but for some reason it makes me feel creepy, and not in a good way. My apologies to anyone who likes these books, but I would rather spend my time on other similar genre books than these.

I found the first half of this to be compulsively readable paranormal romantic suspense. Unfortunately, the end pacing wasn't as good as the beginning, but I did like it better than the first book in this York series. It had a teaser at the end for her next werewolf book, which looks interesting.
