Shelli is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author who read her first romance novel when she snatched it off her mother’s bookshelf at the age of eleven. She is a true pluviophile (lover of rain) who currently lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two daughters. She loves Disney, taking sunset pics (follow her on Instagram), baking, nature walking, and spontaneously bursting into song. She’s written various genres of romance, but is most known for her contemporary series such as The McLaughlins, The Bro Code, Marshall Ranch, and A is for Alpha.
The premise of the story was an interesting fantasy universe where there are different kingdoms with patron animals (the falcon, for example, and the royalty of that line can shape-shift into the patron animal). The princess of one kingdom was promised to two men - each from different kingdoms - in order to unite all three politically. The princess doesn't take too well to being promised away without her consent, so she takes matters into her own hands.
The characterization was good, and I particularly liked the princess. However, I found myself wishing that the setting and backgrounds of the characters had been more detailed, and that there was a bit less "telling" rather than "showing" in the writing. Because of this, it was harder for me to accept that the characters were meant to be together.
On the whole, I enjoyed reading this M/M/F story. The sex scenes between the characters were very hot, and it was worth reading just for this. I'd recommend this story to anyone looking for a good, sexy short read.
A princess to marry two princes to unite a kingdom. That is the basis of ths story.
She is reluctant at first, being a virgin and all, she even runs from them in hopes that they will just leave her alone. Well, that doesn't work out so well.
The guys are angry and hurt. They try to reason with her but it is not until one of the men is badly wounded that she realizes how important they actually are to her and how she doesn't want to live without them.
It is a short story. I think it could have been written in more background detail. The sex in the book was very good.
Well if Shelli Stevens is anything, she's certainly versatile in her writings. I couldn't believe tha she wrote this novel and I have to be honest, I did not like the novel. It's not because it's poorly written, which it isn't. It's just the fact this novel isn't my type of book, at all. If you are into shifters and forced marriages with them, you might enjoy this book unlike myself.
awesome hot sex scenes.. plot needs some work... would make a really great longer story with some expanding of the plot line and learning more about the characters and back story
Almost no plot to this story. She runs away, they find her, have sex, one of the guys gets hurt, and of course she realizes she loves them both. All this took place in 2 days.
