Scarlet is a princess. This is obvious as her mother is a queen and her father is a knight. Life passes in idyllic splendor with her stuffed animal companions Captain Bear and Sergeant Mouse. Then the trolls arrive in her wardrobe with a desperate message from the town of Straw-on-Water. The Mouse Queen is a prisoner of the diabolical Beast. It is up to Scarlet, Captain Bear, and Sergeant Mouse to rescue the Mouse Queen across a wondrous realm where Scarlet learns that things aren’t always as they first seem.
In real life, R.L. Ferguson makes a living as a cook. She is the single parent of two lovely pre-teen daughters, and is the human staff for two cats, a horse, and a newly acquired Australian shepherd puppy. She has been writing short stories and journaling since the age of 9, but has recently returned to writing after a 5-year hiatus. Her preferred genre is m/m erotic romance. She lives a ‘selectively secluded’ life, on a farm in northeast Missouri. She firmly believes the famous Eleanor Roosevelt quote: “Well behaved women rarely make history.”
This is a very cute book about a special girl, Scarlet, with special gifts. Scarlet takes a journey to save the Mouse Queen with her friends/toys Captain Bear, Sargent Mouse and two trolls...ColbyJack and Merry.
The Mouse Queen is the author's first published story written during the 2010 NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) event. He self published the book and also did a pod cast recording of the book. He has since written more stories, mostly sci-fi, and continues to work on his website, pod casting his own and others works.
