The following book is really good! It is fun and more of a kid's book that talks about schools and highlights the life of the school in many different forms. One poem talks about the first day of school, which would be a great poem to start the year. It is quirky, and it is fun. I would tell these stories to younger kids up to 6th grade, but there are some more relatable stories inside the book. The book collectively is very funny and unique, and different.
This book includes a variety of poems centered around the theme of school. This collection includes a variety of poems of different lengths and with a variety of characteristics. This would be a great book to include in a classroom as each poem alone can be relatable in some way to each student. Since the collection includes a variety of poems, students may notice different ways of writing poetry that they might experiment with in their own writing. These poems are humorous and engaging and make an overall great collection.
I have always liked poetry, so I thought I'd mix it up and try something a little... smaller on the scale... like books for kids, because they are still good books, and people tend to judge a book by its cover. But this is a great book if you like to mix it up and read poetry.
