"Shit, kid. I wish I could help you, but now's not the time. Come find me in a year—"
"A year? He'll be dead!" Sylvan grabbed Jarvis's wrist before Jarvis realized he was going to make a move.
Sometimes rescuing a bunch of almost-dead warriors from black magicked pit vipers was just the kind of thing a man needed to help him forget the fact that he could not, for the life of him, figure out how to knit.
"It's not easy to bring a friend from a place of love and empathy into a pit of utter despair and misery, but I do my best."
"Tapping into your artistic side is critical for a man to be sufficiently badass and violent."
"What I was actually going to say that although you have a right to get your ass kicked if you so choose, it's up to your sister to decide if she's ready to die."and then
"'I'm not trying to be helpful. I'm just observing.Your sister is an intriguing juxtaposition of assorted emotions. She's conflicted, and it shows on her face.'…He pulled out his sketch pad and pen. 'Hold that expression. It's a fascinating look into the anguish that love can cause.'"Touch If You Dare has a parallel plot with Reina obsessed with saving her sister Natalie while Jarvis is intent on reconnecting with his brother the Guardian of Love. From there it just gets complex. Don't worry about it; just go with the flow, even if Rowe does go on and on a bit with her main characters' soul searching. I also think Rowe got a bit tired with her story as the ending is a bit unsatisfactory; she glosses over the details. That, or it was so complex I just got lost in it! I did enjoy the surprise Reina put together for Jarvis…too sweet.
He's just about the hottest warrior she's ever seen...
