Never Cry Werewolf #2

Sometimes by Moonlight

Rate this book
It's bad enough that the guy Shelby fell in love with at brat camp last summer had a dark secret, but helping him protect it has come at a huge cost. It's goodbye, Beverly Hills mansion; hello, creepy Swiss boarding school.

What could be worse than doing time at Steinfelder Academy for Girls? Not hearing a word from her summer boyfriend, Austin Bridges III. Shelby's not even sure that the sacrifice she made for him meant anything, especially after she spies him in the tabloids with a European pop princess.

But Austin's more than your average son-of-a-rockstar werewolf hottie, and his connection to Shelby is stronger than she realizes.

As the days grow darker and the school prepares for holiday break, Austin arrives to explain the real reasons he's stayed away. Suddenly, Shelby begins to understand her improved senses, her need for moonlight, and her growing hunger. Now trapped at Steinfelder, with its ties to an ancient, bloody brotherhood, Shelby realizes that loving Austin will cost her more than she could have imagined.

A dangerous full moon approaches for Shelby and Austin in this ebook novella sequel to the popular Young Adult romance Never Cry Werewolf.

I was first drawn to the novella “Sometimes by Moonlight” because I truly love its predecessor “Never Cry Wolf”. I just had to know where Shelby and Austin’s story was going. The cover art for the novella was delightful and added a mist of mystery.

I was disappointed at how short the book was and was surprised at all the information that was packed into the pages. Heather Davis did an outstanding job and leaving such a cliff hanger at the end make me wonder if in her spare time she is toying with continuing the series.

I wasn’t surprised to learn that in this installment the step-which honey bun successfully separated Shelby from her father. I was a bit distorts that the abrupt separation of Austin and Shelby and was just as much an emotional wreck as Shelby.

I was elated to learn that it seems Austin after a bit of time started hanging around the perimeter of the school. Moreover it seems that Shelby has some newfound abilities and she must pay close attention to those around her to keep her secrete from coming to light.

On her own cut off from the world who can she trust? With people in place who can destroy Austin and cut off from the world who can she trust? What is more important friendship, love or loyalty?

Deep down I hope that Heather Davis continues this series my whole family has come to love.

Thank You Heather Davis! This novella is a follow up to "Never Cry Werewolf". We finally get to find out what happens to Shelby and Austin. Austin the son of a rockstar and followed by tabloids and also happends to be a werewolf. Shelby saved Austin in the first book by helping him escape from 'brat camp' which blossomed into a relationship. During the escape, Austin accidently bites Shelby. I continued to wonder about that bite and what it would mean for Shelby. I wanted to know!! I am so glad Heather Davis when ahead and wrote this novella to satisfied my curiousity but now I want to know what will happen next. sigh! I recommend this if you enjoyed the first book as it will answer some lingering questions.

How should I put this... this kind of book, it isn't all that my cup of tea, if you know what I mean. What I liked best was the narration style, always one of the most important things I pay attention to. This style of hers - it's very rare, I think, so it makes it all the more delightful. I adored how Shelby thought of things, the way she worried and fought and the way she interacted... in short stories it's all about the character interaction after all, and perhaps dialogue (for what I believe are the obvious reasons). So, yes. Not an all time favourite but definitely not a waste of my time by any means.
(Although I did find a bit annoying how she's always so predisposed to think the worst of others, especially adults. Her relationship with her stepmother is, okay, alright - to a certain point but beyond that it's pure rudeness and stubborness, two things of which I am not fond of when combined. Open-mindedness, I say! This later changes when she becomes friendly with Mrs. Lemmon -- by the by, I found her boyfriend Massimo to be rather delightful, a funny and cute touch.) Austin's dad, too - and Austin himself, with his British accent and careful demeanor... he's a sweetheart, yes he is. I liked it very much. A worthy read.

I was so excited when I found out Heather was writing another book to go along with "Never Cry Werewolf". The first book was amazing and I fell in love with the characters. "Sometimes by Moonlight" was a great book. The relationship between Shelby and Austin grows even stronger in this book letting you get to know them even better. Werewolf books are a big thing now but I strongly recommend this book if you like a well written love story. I wish that it would have been a lot longer but that's what you get when it is self published to e-book. Saying that I enjoyed this book and hope that there will be another. For the price this book is totally worth it.So if you like the first one I say get this one.

The book was really light and easy to read. It was very strange to me to see that it is such a short book, but as I went on reading it I realized that the book couldn't have been longer.
As a continuation of the story Never cry Werewolf, the book continues the story of Shelby Locke, who is sent to a Swiss boarding school. Here she finds herself stranded not only from her family, but also from the one she loves, Austin Bridges the 3rd. Uncertain about his feelings and felling stranger by the day, Shelby doesn't know who to trust or what to expect to next. I guess that's what happens when you all in love with a Werewolf.

A second book as good as the first? Why yes, as a matter of fact, it was. This book was short, ninety pages or so, but it didn't bother me at all. It had a plot, lovely descriptions, characters that weren't whiny, and kisses that melt your socks. Or something. The gummy scene was SOOO gross. I loved it!

Interesting second book in the Never Cry Werewolf series. This would have done well as part of the original story but stands alone well. I liked that the characters are fleshed out and the story line is even more engaging in this second book. I think it strengthens the first book considerably. I'm looking forward to the next installation in the series.

This was okay... But the story is sadly still lacking depth. It was also kind of boring, nothing really happened. And why is it Austin's the one always getting hurt? ;) lol

WARNING: Do not buy this book on amazon like I did- totally not worth it :/
