When the going gets tough, the tough get busy. Real busy . Roped, Book 2 In Millbrook, Texas, there are cowboys. Then there are the Kiels, every girl’s idea of perfection in tight-fittin’ jeans. Peyton James is no different. Only she doesn’t want to admit it—because three years ago Brent Kiel ripped out her heart and handed it back in teeny little pieces. In a twist of fate Peyton wound up engaged to Brent’s best friend. The engagement might be off now, but no one needs to know, right? It keeps the questions at bay…and the temptation called Brent Kiel out of reach. Until the night he shows up at her family’s bar. The only reason Brent agrees to meet his brothers at Big Jack’s is that Peyton never darkens the door on a Friday night. Except tonight. Seeing her is a painful reminder of his mistake and what it cost him—and that no other woman’s lips or body will ever satisfy him like hers. Nothing—not the past, not her legendary temper, not even the rock on her finger—will keep this cowboy from getting what he wants… Seduction served by a brooding and standoffish cowboy who wants nothing more than his ladylove’s heart and soul—her body is just icing on the cake. Hot cowboy sex in a bar, in a barn, in a bed…just about anywhere.
I like this author's writing. Its steamy, earthy and has strong characters who value family and also know how to have fun. Thats my problem with this book. The H Brent is kind of a moody hellraiser cowboy who works hard and plays hard. He breaks up with his GF, the h. He is in love with h and he's seen the havoc love caused on his elder brother( book 1) and he wants no part of that. He breaks the h's heart, he is not kind while breaking up, then basically he ignores her , doesn't give her the time of the day - even though they live in same small town - he even picks up his women while in the bar she owns. For 4 years. The h is an original, she physically breaks up bar-fights without breaking a sweat, she's hot n raunchy, she's a babe - she gives back as good as she gets and is not afraid to speak her mind. So I find it very difficult to believe that she would date only one guy in those 4 years and that too a guy she has more friendly feelings than anything, whom she hardly ever sees. She even gets engaged to the guy although they're broken up at the beginning of this book. This h who is written as true to herself doesn't really seem the kind who would settle. She is the kind who'd find a way to get closure and move on to a man who sets her on fire. Not someone who'd wait pathetically around for the H to randomly change his mind after years and boink her in a barn during a wedding- the day after he took home another woman right in front of her and smexed her. Seriously I get why the H broke up with her in the first place. He's a grouch and doesn't talk much, so I understand he wasn't smooth while breaking up or afterwards. But I don't get why he suddenly decides to go after her again - when he himself admits he doesn't love her anymore, its more physical - after all these years. It also doesn't feel right that the h settled for a passionless long distance relationship and never really moved on. The way Peyton was written, such a dynamic passionate woman, it just doesn't fit.
A cowboy with a Stetson and uses the endearment "darlin'"......Whollly Guacamole that's hot. This book had all the emotions that makes a good read. I couldn't wait to get back to reading it and then finishing it.
I read Niki Green's first novella about a year ago and wondered if she would be coming out with anything else..
To my surprise Breaking Brent just came out and it pick up with one of the brothers from the first book. I liked Peyton and Brent. There were a few things I didn't care for in the book, but I still thought it was a great read and I can't wait for the next book. Which looks like it will be Jason and Jocelyn's.
I like Breaking Brent more than I liked the Real Deal.
Quick Little hot read about Sex..Bit of a story in between, "taking her", dreaming about taking her, fantasizing about taking her and actually taking her.
I can't say anything about this book- it was okay. I didn't like the writing- it seemed awkward and wooden at times. Sex scenes were hot, though. But the book isn't a keeper for me.
