David Mulwa’s Redemption demystifies religious hypocrisy and lays a firm foundation for challenging rampant commercialized religion. The text exposes how faith has been turned into a commodity, with churches selling hope to poor and desperate people in exchange for their hard-earned money. The result, as Mulwa painfully illustrates, is the mushrooming of five-star churches rising from the middle of slums, built quite literally at the backs of impoverished believers.
