Sam Stokes, the drummer for the ultra-popular rock band, Panic Station, and Holly McGregor, their vocalist, appear to have the perfect relationship, much to their fans’ delight.
But guess what? It’s all a lie, perpetuated by social media, created to help catapult the band to fame.
And Sam is sick of it. He’s tired of pretending. He wants out.
But Holly doesn’t want him to quit. What will their fans think? How will the band carry on?
MMC/FMC- Sam and Holly POV- 1st person dual Genre- Contemporary Romance Sub Genre- Rockstar Romance Heat level- they do the thing a couple of times and describe it once Series? Y (prequel) Cliffhanger? N HEA/HFN? Y Triggers- sex Tropes- Fake Relationship, Friends to Lovers, Dysfunctional Family FTW Note- previously published as Drum Me Away with character and name changes What I liked- the book had great descriptions, especially of the fabulous clothes. And the treehouse was amazing. Sam was cute when he was surprising Holly with kisses and when he took care of her. What I didn’t- Holly was so emotionally stunted and clueless that it was seriously hard to connect with her. I just couldn’t get invested. Sam was great, but Holly didn’t sell the romance. Verdict- this had some good elements, but ultimately, one of the two main characters did not live up to expectations, and the romance fell flat.

“I was afraid I’d lose myself in my feelings for you.”
This is my idea of a perfect rockstar romance. Sam is a hot, long blond haired drummer. He’s all man but not a jerk, isn’t strung out on drugs or drunk all the time and he understands what loyalty means. Holly is strong but not mean, sensitive and so unaware of her feelings for Sam. Friends to lovers isn’t my favorite trope but in this instance it works. They are so perfect together and I wanted to shake some sense into them and ask they why they have been wasting the last four years! Everything about them and between them was so believable. I loved it! This is actually the first book of Tami’s I’ve ever read and I’m wondering how I missed her in the past. Sign me up for the rest of the series. This is rockstar romance at its best.
Wow, just wow! I’ve truly fallen in love with this cast of characters. Holly with her Emotionally abusive childhood. Sam with his love for Holly, that knows no bounds. Their supportive band and management. I love that Holly broke from her family to try to realize her true self. Sam was so supportive, even though he didn’t know her life story. they were a match, made in heaven. Can’t wait for more!
