M. David Detweiler, a graduate of Yale University and former investigative journalist, lives in Harrisburg, PA. His grandfather is Civil War author Gen. Edward J. Stackpole. Detweiler also has authored the novels Evenings along the Stream, The Guide and the CEO, and The Tree of Life.


David Reisch, also a graduate of Yale University, lives near Harrisburg and has worked with Stackpole’s history line for 10 years. He has studied the Civil War since childhood and is a frequent visitor to Gettysburg.
