This book is book is based in a small town in Canada, Ontario. When tessa's body is found in a pond, everyone turns to levesque to solve the crime. Levesque is Chloes stepfather and is also chief of police, he won't let chole in on any of the investigation. So Chloe decides to try to figure it out on herself.I don't really like this book. This book is not very exciting. I don't like this book because it is boring. The first 2 chapters are good because the murder happens, but after that it is just chloe interviewing people and that is the rest of the book.

Op zich een lekker snel boek (had iets uitgebreider mogen zijn), maar de Nederlandse vertaling was niet al te best. Veel taalfouten en dubbele zinnen en ik ga, persoonlijk, toch wel slecht op het woordje ‘hun’ die te vaak verkeerd gebruikt wordt.

For such a short book, there really was a lot of information. and not in an overwhelming, in-your-face, throw-the-information-at-you kind of way. It was well thought out, unexpected, and enjoyable. The writing style was very different, and I loved it!

Scared to Death is another murder mystery that occurs in the small town of East Hastings, Ontario, Canada. Chloe Yan finds herself wondering why another student at her school has died and would like to know who is involved. Even though her step-father is chief of police, he doesn't give her much information. He only wants her to stay out of it. In fact, he usually keeps the details of the murder to himself, and Chloe has to do her own investigating, which he doesn't know about. I wonder if Levesque will ever notice that Chloe is a pretty darned good investigator.

Once again, Norah McClintock has dreamt up a nasty little murder in s a small town. Does it matter that it takes place in Canada rather than the Untied States? No, our two countries are pretty similar. Does it matter that Chloe is only in high school? No, she seems to know how to discover and follow a lead. Does it matter that Chloe's step-father is chief of police? No, he is little to no help. Police business, and all that. What matters is that these stories are well-thought up and very well-written. Young readers will instantly bond with Chloe Yan and become deeply involved in the stories.

What I like about the Chloe and Levesque Mysteries is that they are not gruesome. The high school kids are well-developed and believable. I should know as I have a sixteen year old daughter and I also work in a high school in a small town. I find that I always look forward to picking up and starting a new book starring Chloe Yan and wonder what kind of trouble she will find herself in. I do wonder how so many kids can be killed in East Hastings, though, without thinking that something is seriously wrong with the town folks. I have worked at my school for eight years and there hasn't been a single killing, and Chloe has experienced three in nine months. That seems like an awful lot of kids dying.

Overall, Scared to Death is another really great novel about a killing of a young girl who was seeking out help, but didn't find it in time. I never fear that Chloe won't get to the bottom of the mystery, even though sometimes it feels like she isn't making any headway. So, if you are looking for a great mystery series starring high school students, pick up a copy of this book today. You will love it.

Het boek past, uiteraard, in het genre 'thrillers'. De opbouw en het plot van het verhaal zijn goed en geloofwaardig, maar ik vond het meer een platte uiteenzetting dan een spannend boek. De personages zijn mij te oppervlakkig, ik voelde nergens met een personage mee.
Ik ben zelf een echte thrillerliefhebber en ik heb er ook veel gelezen maar dit boek kon mij niet bekoren, waarschijnlijk omdat het echt voor pubers is. Kinderen vanaf een jaar of 13 zullen het wel een leuk en toegankelijk boek vinden omdat de verhaallijn niet ingewikkeld is en het boek voor hen wel spannend zal zijn.

Scared to death is by Norah Mcclintock. Scared to death is also a mystery.One day Tessa was at Chole's front and was looking for Levesque witch was a cop.Then she told her she could find him at the police station and she never went.Then two days later she was found dead. Now they have to find out how she died and they barley have any evidence to know that it is right.Will they finger out who did it read the book to find out.

I liked this book. It was a fun and exciting mystery. It was always moving forward. I thought in some parts the book was very sad.:-( But I still enjoyed this book. I did think the ending was a good ending it was just very sad. I enjoyed this book and how it kept me on the edge on my seat all the way through. I especially like this book because like the whole thing was the climax!I never got bored with it.:-)
