I purchased Ray's book as I have been paleo for 2 years now, and heard about Ray Audette from Abel James podcast. I wanted to read one of the original paleo books. I found it full great, well researched information and excellent recipes. A great addition to any paleo bookshelf, Neanderthin is a very readable, well laid out plan for going paleo.
Some of this information is now out of date with more recent research in nutrition and from the field of paleoanthropology. Take with a grain of salt. But the essential information on whole foods inspired by a hunter gatherer diet is still valid, even if some of the particulars are not.
