My son had a few manga (graphic novels) on the shelf so I decided to read them. This one is the second in the series. You can read my review of "Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 GN, Volume 1". This book is more of the same except for some oddities. I'll talk about them now.

1. For a military organization the officers seem to have amazingly little familiarity with military discipline such as saluting, saying "Yes, sir" or "Yes, ma'am", or even following orders without backtalk.

2. The officers seem not to realize that anyone (even a civilian) who commits mutiny or takes hostages in order to force the captain to do ANYTHING is subject to the death penalty. Instead, such incidents were brushed off as a senseless delay. Even when everyone acknowledged that such delays cost real lives, it was treated more as a learning moment rather than a capital crime.

3. Somehow, stealing critical military vehicles was seen as a prank, "boys-will-be-boys" or even "girls-will-be-girls".

4. Pacifism was a critical theme in this book despite the fact that the whole point of the series seems to be to blow the ever-loving snot out of each other.

I doubt I will return to this series. I still like the anime, though.
