More than a little curmudgeonly at times and some comments do actually make perfect sense depending on the context in which they were said. An overall amusing book and you do wonder at
intelligence, or lack thereof, of customers and how booksellers manage to retain any level of sanity in the face of comments and questions put to them.

An amusing diversion.

Lots of vaguely amusing anecdotes, some which are laugh-out-loud funny and others which made me wonder how the owners of bookshops retain their sanity! Not a book to read in one sitting but perfect to dip in and out of whenever the mood takes you!
