4 1/2 kisses, 3 peppers M/F sexual torture, sleep deprivation, hard labor, corporal punishment, electrocution, predicament bondage, strict pony training, rape. Not for the faint of heart!!
On Jessica Miller's nineteenth birthday, she's on her way to her "surprise" party.
Unfortunately, she never makes it. She's pulled over for speeding, then the cop tells her she's also wanted for an attempted robbery. Screaming that it's all a big mistake as she is cuffed and dragged to the officer's car, she learns later that she's not really being arrested, she's being kidnapped.
Her kidnapper takes her to an old mill where he tells her it's up to her when she gets released. He wants her to make her father, the mayor, realize this is not one of her jokes, but that her life is truly in danger. She's being held for ransom and she is filmed during several events which convey she's truly in the hands of a sadistic man.
While waiting for the ransom money to arrive, Jessica's captor starts her female pony training, a regimen of strict bondage and hard labor designed to change her from a draft pony to a show pony. She's told that if her father decides not to pay the ransom, there is a good market for a well trained pony and some man will want her.
First, I want to say that Draft Pony isn't for the faint of heart. This is not a love story with a HEA or a HFN ending.
The Mayor's Daughter by Will Versuch is a compelling, gut wrenching, very descriptive book about a spoiled lady who is kidnapped and tortured. Jessica is a bit on the wild side, and knows her father, the mayor, will bail her out of any situation. I didn't really get to see a lot of Jessica's personality, other than her determination to survive the situation long enough to be rescued. She did things I know I'd never be capable of doing. She was very strong in that respect. I would have given up the first day.
The officer doesn't have a name, other than ‘bastard,’ for that's what he is. He's mean, sadistic, and uncaring towards Jessica. She's just property to him to be trained. The training is described with great detail and I could almost feel like I was feeling what Jessica was. Mr. Versuch has a very vivid imagination and has a flair for drama that keeps the reader turning the pages. I kept reading not because I liked what was happening to Jessica, but because I needed to know that there was a chance she could escape and her captor would get caught. I truly wanted him to have to go through what he was doing to Jessica. All that torture, punishment, hard labor, humiliation, and for him to feel used sexually. This book made me have dreams about it, which no other book has done; it had me very anxious to get back to reading it. I couldn't stop thinking about the story. I'll be reading book two, Stablemate, very soon.
