Szeleburdi család is a Hungarian (now classic) children’s book, first published in 1968.
The book is the diary of twelve-year-old Laci, who describes the hectic and adventurous life of his family, friends and neighbors. His narration is really funny and witty, and the stories are filled with joy, friendship, pets and plants. I saw it called the Hungarian My Family and Other Animals.
I read it when I was a kid, and now it is one of my daughter’s summer reads. I enjoyed it again immensely.
