Very intense, very good description of the worry, panic and anger Zach feels when he thinks his lover Steve, a cop, has been shot. The story left me breathless and just as worried as Zach. The feelings he cycles through, including grief and anger at the end, are amazingly real, and the ending is heartbreaking in its own way. Very, very good.

Wow, what an intense ride for such a short story. It is a perfect description of the feelings one has when you know something bad has happened, but you don't know if your spouse is hurt. The angry feelings and inability to express them perfectly describe life with a street cop (my husband has been an officer 31 years - and they never think to call!!)
