I overall did not enjoy this book. The narrator was horrible. The story was blah. I think I didn't have to pay anything for this book otherwise I would have returned it for a refund. I'm not sure if I will give this author or narrator another chance with another book.

This was slow going, repetitive, boring, and anticlimactic. I shudder to think of how long it took me to trudge through this. Not encouraged to read more by this author.

How Much Will She Risk For Love?

"Fired from her prestigious job, journalist Allison Wakefield is now working for a tabloid newspaper, and she's desperate to find a way to get her career back on track. Her new assignment, an explosive story involving mysterious bestselling author Jacob Covington, could be the answer. When Allison first encounters the author while visiting her aunt's home on Idlewild Lake in Michigan, she realizes that Jacob is one subject she wouldn't mind getting to know more intimately….

But as they work side by side during Jacob's book tour, Allison finds herself falling in love—and in a dilemma about what to do. The exposé is her ticket to success, but revealing the truth about Jacob's past as a State Department undercover operative could jeopardize his career—and destroy a summer romance that holds the promise of a lifetime of happiness."

What I liked from this read...

This was a wonderful beautiful read that once you start you will find it hard to put down until he very end. The two main characters Allison Wakefield and Jacob Covington were quite a interesting
pair and being put together whether it was wanted or not was really fascinating to read.
Allison had a job that meant that she had to do what she had to do to get the story and not let no one, not very Jacob Covington stop her from getting what she needed for this story about which was about 'him.' Jacob on the other hand was a very private person that was determined that there were some things in his life he wanted kept that way. With Allison having been fired earlier from a prestigious journalist job due to the fact she hadn't done her job well she was determine that that would not be the case in this job even if that meant that she had to become a under cover sleuth to find more out about Jacob. It was really intriguing when Allison had to make a decision that could cost her happiness. What will she decide to do? How will this dilemma play out? To find these answers pick up "Last Chance at Love" to see how this author will bring it all out to the reader. I found "Last Chance at Love" a wonderful entertaining love story that will give you some food for thought in this well written novel by a wonderful author. Would I recommend? YES!

Trying to avenge her name and credibility to restore her career as a journalist. Writing a story about Author Jake Covenington may be the assignment of her life.

Jake’s publisher insisted on him allowing a journalist to write a cover story about him which meant the author would join his book tour. His complex life is full of secrets.

The attraction was instant and mutual and their journey to love was interesting and clouded with a lot of secrets and fears. Slowly they let their guards down and let love in.

The audiobook was a dated performance with a single male narrator Cary Ike. His voice and character portrayals are a struggle to adjust to.

This was an enjoyable enough book, but took a long time to get anywhere. I enjoyed a look at a world I’m not familiar with, but found Jacob’s invisible past implausible and the consequences of Allison’s single mistake overly severe. You’d think Jacob and his bosses would have known to provide him with a public background, and expect others to wonder where this fantastic author and speaker came from. I did enjoy the unfolding romance, as opposed to the instant love so many other romances portray. The conclusion was too sudden and too perfect for both of them.

It was a good story and all but I feel like it dragged on and the dialogue was a little annoying between the two, in situations that were supposed to be intimate. I don't know.I just want all in with this book.

A little corny and predictable at times however, it did keep my attention. Overall, it was a good love story.

OK this was a decent book, but I have never been more happy to hurry up with a book, and not because it was that good either. I guess I've read so many hood books lately that reading this gushy love story almost bored me. The one criticism I have with the book was the word idyllic. It was over used. I liked the story line, I wished there had been a tad more drama to balance out all of the mushiness. Two things that got me through this story was Cary Hite who read it through Audible.com and I have to read 100 books for 2016.

Interesting tell secrets revealed

Jake and Allison, interesting back story. Reporter and an author. Jake the with his secret life and Allison with hers. Having to be vulnerable with their deepest thoughts. The two worlds collide as Allison is rebuilding her career after a damaging mistake. Jake longing to have a position that would be jeopardized if one knew his past. How does the two come together for a love to last.

Actually, I listened to this on audiobook. Interesting story, but painfully slow to get to the point at some periods. You can tell Forster was trying to wrap it up at the end because the detail that was present throughout the entire book started to fade in the last two chapters. I was able to finish it but I don't think I'd recommend this book to anyone.
