DECEPTICONS’ HONOR
In the second volume, you get the finale of the All Hail Megatron narrative, since the following volumes are “Spotlights” specials and short stories related to the major storyline.
Decepticons won.
Not only at Earth but also in the rest of the galaxy, where the other Autobots settlements and ships didn’t have a chance, due an insidious treachery, exposing Autobots’ codes, allowing to the Decepticons an easy defeat to their endless enemies.
A small group of G1 & G2 Autobots are stranded at the deserted Cybertron, with Optimus Prime defeated, damaged and almost without much Energon on him, and the worst part is that Cybertron isn’t as empty as they thought to be and they can’t trust each other, since a traitor (most like more than one) is amongst their ranks.
Earth military forces have been humilliated with devastating defeats in all grounds and their last resource may be just another disguised defeat.
However…
…while Megatron’s leadership isn’t questioned, you’ll get to understand the honor of the Decepticons that it’s not only about winning…
…but how.
Great character developing! They’re not just a bunch of transforming robots, but real characters with unique personalities and many times, in both sides of the conflict, they will choose to take some actions…
Not quite as good as volume 1 dues to some poor art in places and the pacing was off at the end. All of the sudden the Autobots are fine halfway through the book and they go to end the war in a rush. It felt like IDW may have pulled the plug halfway through this volume and McCarthy had to tie things up in a hurry. That being said, there's still some awesome moments in this story. I loved the dichotomy between Megatron and Starscream. And then there's this:
This part of All Hail Megatron is actually three stories in one. The first is the Autobots and how they picked themselves up from defeat and their eventual counter-attack; the second is the human resistance in New York City, ground zero for the Decepticon war; and the third would be the Decepticon infighting as they grow complacent from their victory.
Of the three, the Autobot section is my favorite. The human chapters are still inadequately illustrated and the Decepticon parts are tolerable because the robot art has always been better.
It was a bold move keeping Optimus Prime off the board until well into this collection. It enables Kup and Jazz to shine as they tried to lead the Autobots in Prime's place. Prime returns just as they begin to plan their counterattack.
Without a doubt this was an ambitious story-line. It may not have been perfect but it is still an excellent story.
Yeesh. I'm a little fuzzy on the IDW timeline from the Transformers, but that sounds like a particularly brutal thing humans did to poor Sunstreaker. Glad that Optimus Prime could get back on his feet. But even more glad that a human pointed out the ridiculousness of Kup's "cigar."
I love the art, failing morale, and giant robots psychology warped by war traumas, Starscream's plotting and his strange loyalties, Megatron-Prime and Megatron-Starscream respect-hate and, last but not least Starscream flying away with Megatron in his arms like a swooning demoiselle.
Slightly less brilliant than Vol 1 due to some inconsistent artwork and occasional moments where too much dialogue hinders rather than helps the story. Still thoroughly recommended.
It’s a Transformers comic so I was shocked at how dark this is 😂. Those ’Cons toying with the humans before ripping them apart. Sunstreaker’s torment. Skywarp destroying entire cities. The Decepticons aren’t holding back. But Thundercracker has a valid point: humans can’t fight back against Transformers. They’re simply not strong enough adversaries. It was almost too easy to defeat them.
There’s more to the betrayal than meets the eye.
I feel bad for Sunstreaker - he thought he was doing a good thing by putting an end to the war and Megatron. But after the revelation of what’d been done to him earlier in the comic, it’s no wonder he wanted out.
A non-stop, action-packed page turner. This was a great read!

Continuing the story volume two has a lot more focus on rge Autobots. It felt a little rushed because one minute the Autobots have no hope at all, the next they are fighting fit(ish). The Decipticons meanwhile begin to suffer from their biggest foe, each other - well mainly Starscream's scheming. The art was nice but I preferred it in volume 1, much like the pace of the story too. Still loads of fun.
Transformers: All Hail Megatron, Volume 2 continues on from the previous book with the Humans starting to realise there are sides amongst the Transformers and traitors are found within the ranks! :D The plot moves on at a huge pace with confrontations between Megatron and Optimus Prime really showing the action heavy content which is displayed brilliantly through the art and script! :D Transformers: All Hail Megatron, Volume 2 is brilliant excellently drawn, fast paced and action packed Brilliant and highly recommended! :D

This volume is better at picking up the pieces and putting them together into a more coherent whole, even if there are still a lot of questions and plot holes. On the other hand, the ending response to Optimus' promise that the Autobots will help mankind rebuild is the most plausible thing I've ever seen in a Transformers story to date - why the hell would humans want anything to do with Cybertronians after they brought so much death and destruction to Earth?

There was some great 'Con character development in this book, which is fairly rare. A good "finish" to the AHM story, even though they're still apparently making comix for it.
I didn't like how the good guys saved the day, very predictably. That could have been held off for a good long while for me.
