The theme of this book is development. One example is how Reggie developed from a football standout to baseball star. Another example is how reggie went from promising rookie to World Series hero. An example of symbolism is Reggie's friend, bet that he couldn't make the baseball team because it is like the things that drive us to try the new things that lead us to success. People should read this book because it is one of the best life stories of Mr. October.
