His mysterious lifestyle and hot glances, catch Cherish's eye, but considering her affliction, she never dreams she could have him. Taylor is on the hunt for a husband, but the prospects in Jackson Station are slim to none. After a night fueled by too much alcohol, she takes a moonlight stroll into the woods and ends up in the arms of a dream man. Gabe can't believe his luck when he meets the beautiful and nude Taylor. Their relationship quickly turns into nightly passionate meetings that neither can get enough of. That is, until Taylor arrives too early one night and runs into a wolf-- a wolf that turns into a man. When Taylor catches Gabe's transformation, she doesn't know what she'll do. Gabe has his heart set on having her as his mate, so she'd better decide fast.

Part

Every day more and more Society members are settling in Jackson Station. Where there are vampires, trouble inevitably follows. When the town is threatened by a rogue Changeling, his job as a Tracker makes him duty bound to stick around to help solve the case. Little does Dominic know, his wife Mika has been called in as well. It's been sixty years since Mika chose the Society over her husband and she hasn't seen him since. His presence on this case makes it even worse, since she is tracking the same man who came between them all those years ago. Can they find their way back to one another, or will the Changeling finally break them for good?

Part

Dimitri has given up his entire life to the service of his people. Now, he's buying property in Jackson Station and settling down. For years, he's kept a secret, one he dare not let anyone know, and she's the reason he cannot resist the small town. Charity Parkerson has crafted one of the most unique Paranormal Romance stories I’ve read, definitely not formulaic or predictable. Society of Sinners has a distinct take on vampires and werewolves, and I always love when an author creates a new twist on the old folklores. Rather than portraying them as evil beings damned by God, they are warriors blessed by god, defending humans against evil.
Another reason I enjoyed this book so much is the authors’ characteristic writing style. She constructs the story in a way I’ve never seen done before—it’s almost like reading 5 novellas, and I don’t usually like reading a novella, but I like the way she has pulled 5 stories into one cohesive book. Each part is told from the perspective of a new couple: First we see Brandon and Stacey, and then comes Jazz and Cherish, Gabe and Taylor, Dominic and Mika, and finally Dimitri and Annabelle. Though each part focuses on the relationship between the couple, the previous characters are still present, and there is a common plot that runs through the stories that tie them together.
I was impressed that with so many characters being featured in one book that she actually drew me into each story and made me care for each of the characters. I loved the men! As Charity Parkerson would say, they were “Asstastic”. Strong and sexy, yet surprisingly romantic and sweet *sigh*. The only thing that holds this book back from being 5 stars, for me, is that I wished we had of seen more of the Paranormal. I love stories that blend the fantasy world with the romance, and this story definitely leaned more toward romance. I wanted to know more about the Society and the war between the species. With that being said, it didn’t in anyway hinder my enjoyment of the book. I always judge a good Paranormal Romance by whether I get butterflies in my stomach while reading. And there was definitely fluttering!

This was confusing, like the whole story was in fast forward and too many things were skipped over.

You have Jackson Square. It has only a couple hundred people and positioned on/near a mountain. The stories are about the 5 couples that come to live in Jackson Square to hide from the general public. The couples are Brandon & Stacy, Jazz & Cherish, Gabe & Taylor, Dominic & Mika, and Dimitri & Annabelle.

Brandon & Stacy: Stacy discovers Brandon is a Vampire when she sees him drinking from the pizza guy. She goes over and tells him she knows and that she isn't gonna tell anybody. Brandon has been attracked to Stacy since she moved in and wants her. However, he is afraid she thinks he's a monster. While they are trying to figure out what they want from each other. Tainted, evil Edwin is in the wings and steals Stacy to turn her into his love slave. Brandon saves her, turning her so that she lives. Edwin is hunts them down to reclaim Stacy and kill Brandon. Stacy saves Brandon, but taints him in the meantime, because she was tainted from Edwin.

Jazz & Cherish: Cherish is an Other, not born a vampire, but turned. She works at the one and only bar in Jackson Station. Every Friday Jazz comes into the bar while Cherish is working. Jazz is an Art Assassi Dei. He's a warrior chosen by God to ride the world of evil doers. Cherish follows him home, like always, to make sure he made it home okay. She smells blood and kills 3 guys, saving Jazz.

So there is your "taste". I don't do spoilers, get the book and read it yourself! I really liked this and look forward to reading more of the Sinners Series.

This is actually like five novellas: Brandon and Stacy’s, Jazz and Cherish, Gabe and Taylor, Dominic and Mika, Dimitri and Annabelle; but they all have intertwining stories. The vampire and other supernatural mythology is unique; they are blessed by God (the 'pure, untainted' ones, that is.) It's like a mini- Paranormal Romance series with a heavy dose of Urban Fantasy all rolled into one book.

With all the different heroes and heroines to choose from, everyone can easily find at least one to root for. I was worried once I realized it was several novellas; I was expecting a vague collection but this ties up all together tighter than a bow. I was really excited about the new ideas on vampires and shifters. There was just the perfect combination of romance, action, and sex. It got a little something for everyone!

I find myself only giving it 4♥'s because of several common pitfalls; primarily the "sudden love" syndrome, but also the desire to learn more about Jackson Square and the "world" they live in. These did not in any way prevent me from really enjoying this book. I would still absolutely suggest this for any PNR fan.

If you don't do novellas, I still recommend this book. It really is just one story broken into 5 parts. I'm still a little steamy under the collar from all the hot men....

I rated this one 4.5/5 Stars. I really, really liked it. I just wanted more from each story. Yes, you heard right. When I started reading this I did not realize that it was made up of 5 Short Stories. They are all linked through a group called Safe Haven and The Society.

Recommend: I would recommend this book to those who enjoy Paranormal Romance such as Black Dagger Brotherhood and Midnight Breed Series. It had the same feel to it, but a different take on Vampires and Were's.

Instead of me breaking it down with likes and dislikes, I will just break down the stories a little for you. I really enjoyed all of them and they got better as they went on.

Story Number 1 : Brandon and Stacy
(Bring out the fan so you don't over heat!)

* Brandon is one of the first Vampires. This reminded me of Wrath(BDB) and Lucan (midnight breed series). He falls for Stacy.
* Stacy gets taken away and almost changed into a creature that can only come out at night. Brandon saves her with his blood. But she is at that point. She ends up becoming a . Don't worry she saves his butt too in the end!

Story Number 2 : Jazz and Cherish
(Think Cat and Bones)

* Jazz is . He practically speaks to Him daily.
* Cherish has her own secret to keep from Jazz. She ends up using this secret to protect and save Jazz several times. What can I say, the man fell in love with her after that!

Story Number 3 : Gabe and Taylor
(Zsadist and Bella)

* Gabe is a rare type of Were because he is .
* Gabe and Taylor meet in the woods every night for a month and bang .
* She runs he finds her and bam... . Really it is sweet.
* They .This reminded me of Zsadist (BDB).

Story Number 4 : Dominic and Mika
(Edward and Bella)

* Dominic was my favorite character in the stories. There was something about his background and how he acts that I couldn't help but fall in love with. I was really happy when I saw he had a story.
* All you Edward and Bella lovers this story is right up your alley. However, Mika can.

Story Number 5 : Dimitri and
(You just might cry)

* This was my favorite Story out of the 5. You could not help but feel for both of these characters. I really don't want to say much because it will be better if you read it.

Favorite Quotes:

"Brandon eyed her closely, "I'm not going anywhere. I'm damnably durable, and I find I'm also incurably in love with you."

"How did you manage to get them to close down the club for this private party?" Caitlin asked, curious. "Well, I do make them a lot of money. So I asked and they laughed, so I mind zapped them." Caitlin looked horrified. "You did not!" "I did,..."

"Cherish defiled a monk."

"What are you doing?" Annabelle looked at her mother in exasperation. "I'm trying to get this stupid cake to look like it's a gift, instead of the insult against nature that it presently resembles."

"Dimitri scrubbed a hand over his face. Lord, he had forgotten what it was like arguing with a woman. They could back you into a corner from any direction, and you never knew which argument they were going to use, you only knew that you were going to lose."

I wished that all these stories had there own book dedicated to them. I wanted about 200 more pages per story.

Thanks you Charity Parkerson for giving me a copy so that I could enjoy and review your work. I really enjoyed it. Thanks.

I received The Society of Sinners by Charity Parkerson on September 4, 2012.  I won this BRILLIANT book from entering her book giveaway on Goodreads. Let me just say that Ms. Parkerson had me at hello! I often do not continue to read a book if I find it flat past chapter 1 or 2.  This book however , sucked me into the pages as I devoured each and every word.  I found the characters we so alive and unique. I wanted to follow them in their journey and hoped for their safety. I feel in love with the town and it's people that Charity Parkerson created with her mind and pen. The story is passionate and ended just right. You know when sometimes there is a total cliff hanger that almost leaves you angry waiting for the sequel. I felt satisfied and sad at the same time. sad only because the story was over. She could defiantly stop, or defiantly continue on and on. I haven't had a chance to see if she went the sequel route...if she did it is as good as in my hands ASAP! I gave her 5 golden stars, would have give ten if available for vote! READ THIS BOOK! Thanks for reading my review of The Society of Sinners by Charity Parkerson.

My Thoughts

Incredible! This novel is like waking up Christmas morning to find that Santa brought you every single thing you wanted on your wish list!

The Society of Sinners is a compilation of five different short stories making it refreshingly unique in this genre. Each one tells the story of a specific character; however, they are all interlaced by bringing characters in and out from the other stories as needed, and by keeping the overall plot the same.

There is an overall intensity and impassioned feel to this novel. Each short story is a heartfelt paranormal love story with lots of conflict and a healthy dose of sensuality that Charity Parkerson is famous for in her erotica novels. The tone is definitely more on the light-hearted romantic side rather than the dark or threatening paranormal side.

The author tells each story with a nice balance of internal and external dialogue. The pace is swift-moving with no real slowdowns or deviations from the main plot. However, despite its’ fast pace, the events flow nicely from one story to the next so there are no gaps that leave us confused. Some resolutions occur yet there are many openings for future novels.

Especially impressive to me is that in a compilation such as this, I would have expected each story to be slim in establishing a solid backstory, interesting plot and developing characters in such a limited amount of pages. This is extremely challenging for most authors and the end result would normally be overwhelming readers with too much detail or underwhelming them with too few. It’s hard to get the balance just right. I think it’s a true test of an author’s skill to communicate all we need to know and successfully deliver a well-structured story. Charity Parkerson is one of those skilled authors that has managed to overcome the challenges and produce a great story.

About the story…
________________________________________
As the first in the Sinners series, this novel nicely sets the stage by giving us an overall understanding of the storyworld and background.

The Society is an organization that protects humanity from what they consider the “Evil Ones” - those turned into a supernatural being and not born one, thereby having tainted blood. Bestowed with great strength, agility and eternal life, members of The Society are considered blessed by God. Not cursed by the devil as with most other novels in this genre. The premise is unique for that reason. Also the fact that the characters can be a mix between vampires and weres sets this novel apart from what we normally see in this genre.

Even though The Society considers those with tainted blood to be evil, such is not always the case. A few recognized this and established a Safe House for those hiding from the Society. The Safe House is made up of humans who are kind of like a witness protection program for supernaturals (and humans too) providing them with new identities and backgrounds so they can live out their lives in peace away from the ever-watching eye of The Society.

About the Characters…
________________________________________
With all romance novels, I tend to focus more on character development as I feel that’s most important. Most authors focus on developing the main characters so thoroughly, the supporting characters are sometimes neglected. Not Charity Parkerson. Each and every character in this novel is captivating and unique with their own issues, abilities and backgrounds. I won’t go into a long description of each one but I’ll say that every one of the heroes, heroines, villains and even the “scary six” (you’ll have to read the novel to know what I’m talking about here) are compelling and easy to invest in and care about.
________________________________________
Bottom Line
________________________________________
In my opinion, The Society of Sinners is a well-structured collection of short stories with a unique and exciting premise for a (hopefully) long running series. Readers, please don’t get discouraged by the fact that this is a complilation. Like I said above, the stories are entwined and the characters are brought together expertly with this author’s unique writing finesse.

I highly recommend this novel to all lovers of steamy Paranormal Romance and I can’t wait to delve into the next book of the series, Wicked Sinners.

This book is broken up into 5 parts introducing the town of Jackson Station as well as the Society members.

Intriqued Brandon decides to get to know her better and unwittingly pulls her into a world of dangerous creatures and changes her life forever.
Part2-Jazz- Cherish Tyrone tends bar in Jackson Station a small town nestled in the mountains of Tennessee. It is one of the few jobs open to her since being attacked by a vampire and cursed to live in the darkness. She chose the town because it seemed like the perfect place to hide. little did she know that she was not the only being to think so.
Part3-Gabe- Gabe the woodsman is a werewolf relocation to Jackson Station after years of working for the society. All he wants is a life of peace but what he finds is Taylor Powell. Taylor is on the hunt for a husband but she gets more than she bargained for in Gabe.
Part4-Dominic- Dominic is a Society enforcer hunting a dangerous changeling that is hiding somewhere in Jackson Station. He has the ability to hear people's thoughts but he fights it as much as possible since it is exhausting to him. There is only ever been one person able to bring him any peace and now their paths are set to cross once more.
Part 5- Dimi- 25 years after Dimi goes to work for Safe Haven he decided to retire in Jackson Station. He has no great desire to live there beyond the fact that there is one person that he wants above all others that lives there. That person is Annabelle Woodsman, Gabe's daughter, and Dimi is the last person Gabe would let date his daughter.
This book is a new twist on the paranormal with interesting characters and surprising turns. I espcially liked Jazz (God's most favored warrior) You can't go wrong with Charity Parkerson

“A Sexy Supernatural Thrill!”
Charity Parkerson’s novel, ‘The Society of Sinners” holds so much more than what the title reveals. With an abundance of characters, situations, and events, it is very easy to lose yourself in the delicate fantasy that she has so carefully designed. What I truly enjoyed was feeling the human conditions of her supernatural characters as they intermingled with their human companions to save, protect, and fit into the modern day world while desperately trying to hold on to what truly mattered most. Each other. From start to finish, I was totally captivated with each individual story as fate pushed everyone forward to finding their place in life.
Sexy? Without question. Descriptive? Most definitely. Despite the realistic details, the level of intimacy proved very romantic because those moments were shared only between couples who at some point had or intended to devote their entire souls and being to one another. The love and dedication these characters possessed could teach many a generation what it really means and feels to share the greatest part of yourself with the one you were rightfully meant to belong.
Overall, this is how a good story should read. It was a very invigorating tale and a super sexy thrill! I absolutely recommend this to the avid paranormal romantic reader. There’s definitely more to this story than I can bring myself to tell, but it is clearly one that I will remember for a long time to come.

The Society of Sinners is a compilation of several interwoven stories, revolving around the residents of Jackson Station and what a wonderful cast they are. The community is home to vamps, werewolves, a changeling and a warrior-god. The plot is a freshly distinctive take on the paranormal, as Ms. Parkerson guides readers through her characters’ trials and relationships. At times, situations and dialogue are laugh-out-loud funny. Other sequences are poignant or seriously romantic. The Society of Sinners is a fun read that I recommend for anyone who enjoys paranormal romance. Should you happen to run out of gas, near Jackson Station, head for the diner. I’ve heard the service is friendly and you never know who might stop by while you’re there.

I won this book on GoodReads and the premise sounded great! When I started reading the book I got into it then I became frustrated because I felt that the story was missing information, that it was skipping a bit. Then the first story ended and I realized this is a book about characters. It is broken up into section and tells a short story of each characters life and how he/she connected with their partner. I enjoyed each story but wanted more from each story. The first story (Brandon) and the last story (Dimitri) were my favorites! Thanks Charity Parkerson and GoodReads!

I really enjoyed this book, I only wish that each story would have been an individual book versus a chapter a piece. My favorite was Dimitri and Annabelle's story, it was very sweet and I loved how his love grew for her as she was growing up.
I like the concept and hope there are follow up book to The Society of Sinners, it would also be nice to know more about some of the mortals that help out like Dan and Lena.

I really, really, REALLY enjoyed this book. It has a great storyline and is well written. This novel has 5 parts, namely:

Part One – Brandon
Brandon and Stacy’s story starts off with Stacy, Brandon’s neighbour, catching him having a snack on the pizza delivery guy. Apart from Brandon being a one of a kind vampire he is also a stripper – yes, you read right *winks*. He is a mindbender vampire and he can read people’s thoughts as well as control them… Stacy calls him a “mind humping freak”!

During their story you meet a few characters and learn about their mission in life – which can be compared to the back bone of this novel. You’ll hear about these characters throughout the whole novel.

Part Two – Jazz
Jazz’s story was my favourite. He is “Art Assass`i De`u - The Killing God”. He basically gets his ‘assignments’ directly from God. He is always hunted, he has never really known warmth or comfort, he feels no emotion and he has never known love… until he met Cherish.

Cherish has a very sad past, she was a student and one evening after class, she was attacked, murdered (turned into a vampire), raped and kept against her will for 2 years. She finally escapes and now lives a very quiet life, working at a bar. She has always had eyes for Jazz when he comes to the bar for a few drinks on Friday evenings.

They have so much chemistry and such a strong relationship that it was difficult to not fall in love with them.

Part Three – Gabe
Gabe and Taylor’s story was a bit weird but still friggin’ awesome. Their first meeting was extremely steamy. Gabe is a Were and Taylor is mortal. After a few more of those steamy meetings Taylor finds out that her life has changed… in a big way. When Gabe finds out about Taylor’s little secret he makes it his mission in life to make her his wife.

At a very young age Taylor got married and learnt the hard way how life works. She works at the only diner in town and was barely scraping by each month until Gabe came in and saved the day.

This couple went through a lot of ups and downs and eventually they made it work. I lurve the ending to their story!

Part Four – Dominic
Dominic is a Tracker. Dominic and his wife, Mika were separated for a very long time. Their positions within the Society came between them. Mika has suffered and blames herself everyday for allowing that to happen – she is at the point of self loathing.

The very thing that separated them so many years ago brings them back together. Mika’s job required her to betray a friend of hers and that was her last straw. Dominic then realizes what Mika’s position within the Society has done to her throughout all the years and he swoops in and saves her from herself, from her emotional turmoil.

Dominic can hear everyone’s thoughts except for Mika’s. She is the one and only person that he can’t hear. I loved how they found each other again after all those years and how they work through their issues together.

Part Five – Dimitri
I can’t say much about Dimitri’s story without giving too much about Gabe and Taylor’s story. There is no other way to describe Dimitri other than – he is a tortured soul. He is very old and lost his wife. He went over to the dark side for a good couple of years. He has so many issues but he really tries to break away from everything and start anew. He then meets the person that he believes he has waited all his life for.

Overall… I enjoyed how all five parts of this novel ties into one. I loved all of the main characters / couples in the book! Their stories captured my interest from the get go. This novel has everything in it, from action to steamy romantic scenes to laugh my ass off humour. The male characters are absolutely swoon worthy! This is the first time I’ve read a book written by Charity Parkerson and it’s definitely not the last.

Glorious!!

Well-written, cogent, hot, and humourous-considers the millennia-old issues of good and evil-tell me, what’s not to love in this book? Nothing-because everything here is just perfect. A fascinating introduction to a fascinating series, and I am so very thankful I found it! Ms. Parkerson takes an entirely new approach to the previously well-turned soil of vampires and werewolves, and you know what? It all makes sense to me now (me, a former doesn’t do vamps, doesn’t do werewolves). No, these guys don’t sparkle, but they sure are hot. Ms. Parkerson’s prose is just delightful, her sense of humour so tongue in cheek; I found myself laughing uproariously on nearly every page as the humour sneaked up subtly and tapped me on the shoulder.

What is a woman to do-a perfectly normal, well-tuned individual-when she
a. Discovers her neighbor is a vampire
b. Realises her exotic-dancing vampire neighbor is irresistible
c. Attracts the attention of an evil-minded Were with her involvement with Vamp Neighbor
d. Is abducted and nearly drained of her blood in order to instigate her Change to Were
e. Is saved by Vamp Neighbor’s Blood
f. Falls in love
g. Turns Vamp
h. Discovers her best friend is decidedly different, and so are BFF’s husband and friends
i. Turns Shapeshifter Plus Vamp
And THIS is JUST the BEGINNING!!

Well, I’m sure you get the idea; and if you like any or all of these facts, RUN, do not walk, hop, or stumble to your nearest bookselling location and GET THE SOCIETY OF SINNERS without fail and without delay! I cannot imagine what my life was like before I read this book! I cannot remember why I “didn’t do vampires, didn’t do werewolves”! “The Society of Sinners,” via fantastic authoress Charity Parkerson, has opened an entirely new dimension to me!

The main thing that I can say about this book id WOW and I wand more!!!
From the moment I started the book I knew I was going to be hooked, it reminded me of the opening to the star wars film with the writing sliding up the screen, with the promise of good guys bad guys and action and I was not disappointed. The style that this has been written in grabbed me from the first words.
This book is split into sections with 5 different couples their own unique story including;
Brandon and Stacey
Jazz and Cherish
Gabe and Taylor
Dominic and Mika
Demitri and Annabelle
All the individual stories are interlinked with exceptional precision. I really enjoyed the mix of characters, abilities and their desires to fit into society in the quite community of Jackson Station. I adored the love purpose and protection expressed not only individually but as a family albeit not blood that they had made together.
This book caused me one very happy sleepless night as I literally could not put it down. I cannot pick a favourite couple or story. It is defiantly a book I would read again and again and I am sooooo looking forward to the next in the series and maybe some of her other books too. Without a doubt now on my favourite author list.

Thanks for the opportunity to read and review R2R

A great book. I have never read any of the other "vampire" books but this one I loved!!. It kept you guessing. A little mystery along with a little spice = awesome. I had a bit of trouble following the characters at first but once I figured out how they all went together I couldn't put it down! I will now be anxiously awaiting the next one as the ending leads you to think that.

This book of 5 short stories that have overlapping characters and take place consecutively in time is a quick, sexy read. The paranormal element has a different aspect than other books. And I liked the fact that the romances of each story face different challenges, not all of them life threatening.

This book is actually five separate, but interwoven novellas. Each part focuses on a specific couple, but all the males characters know each other, and are connected by their past. It was an easy, light read, but it definitely had more potential. This seemed like an introduction to a series as it is not developed fully, and the writing was not as smooth as I thought it could be. I would have liked more character development and better transitions into each story.

First story was Brandon and Stacy’s Story:
Brandon and Stacy were neighbors with a secret mutual attraction, until one day Stacy spied Brandon “biting” the pizza delivery man at his front door. For some reason, it not only peaks Stacy’s curiosity, it turns her on as well. The beginning of the story happened too quickly for me. There wasn’t much build up or sequence of events leading up to things, and actions just occurred. I didn’t really feel Brandon and Stacy’s love grow…it just was there. Stacy learns about the Society of Sinners. As Brandon's woman, Stacy was now part of the action.

Second Book: Jazz Anderson and Cherish Tyrone’s Story:
This was my favorite story. Cherish was a vampire in hiding, working as a bartender. Jazz was a regular patron who came into her bar every Friday. One night, a drunken patron disrespects Cherish, and Jazz stepped in to demand he apologize to her. Jazz then asked Cherish out on a date and their story builds from there. They were a couple of loners looking to belong to someone. The lack of extraneous characters in the beginning of their interaction also made this one more enjoyable.

Third Book: Gabe Woodsman and Taylor Powell’s Story:
This was my runner-up for favorite story. Taylor was a woman looking for love, and would stay out at night fantasizing, when one day her fantasy guy becomes real. The two make love under the moon, but the next morning she finds herself back in her own reality. Alone. Imagine her surprise, when her fantasy guy walks into the diner where she works. My favorite Quote in this entire book was an exchange between Cherish and Taylor : “What can I get for you tonight, Taylor?” “A husband.” Cherish looked behind her, as if searching the shelves for just such a thing before turning back to her with a smile. “Sorry I’m fresh out. Maybe I could interest you in Vodka sour instead. It causes the same effects as having a husband. First you get a rush of euphoria only to be replaced by regret in the morning.” The humor in this story made laugh out loud. The relationship between the Gabe and Taylor was more realistic. What I liked was how Gabe immediately wanted to be a part of her life, even though he wasn’t sure how he would convince her to give him a chance. This was the first story with a good glimpse into the Jackson Station community. It showed a community truly concerned with the happiness and protection of their own. I also enjoyed the friendships the various couples were forming with each other. Each couple’s love was developing in a nice pace.

Fourth Book: Dominic and Mika Nikitin’s Story:
Dominic can feel and hear people’s thoughts so he wears gloves. Mika was his wife who we thought betrayed him years ago. They were hunting a changeling named, Dimitri Ninotchka, but Mika helped him disappear and Dominic misunderstood her reasons. This story helped the married couple work out their issues, and also showed a little dissension with the Society’s agenda. At the end the new couples all worked together to help Dominic, Mika and Dimitri.

Fifth Book: Dimitri Ninotchka and Annabelle Woodsman’s Story:
This story occurs 25 years later. Annabelle is Gabe’s daughter. She’s almost twenty-seven years old and she has a crush on family friend, Dimitri Ninotchka. We quickly see it is a mutual attraction, as Gabe has been hiding his affection for her. All roads point to Gabe having a fit if anything more develops between Dimitri & Annabelle. This story felt like author was trying to wrap up the story with a nice bow, with everyone getting their happily ever after. Regardless, it was a cute read, and I enjoyed how all the couples were connected both by their past and by their present choices.

I recommend this book for those who want a light and quick read. There is nothing too heavy. As it is only book 1, I expect the sequel to be much stronger.

With her book, Society of Sinners, Charity Parkerson has created a very interesting and refreshing twist on the vampire mythos. The book is the story of five men, members of the Society. Brandon, the vampire next door who ends up working with humans to help humans and vampires start a new life. Jazz, the vampire who is like a monk, serving God and the Society as a special elite warrior. Gabe, the werewolf, who walks away from the Society to try to live a normal life as a game warden for the mountain surrounding the little town of Jackson Station, Tennessee, where all the stories take place. Dominic, the vampire who tracks those who are sought by the Society, and Dimitri, a tainted vampire.

Vampires are not cursed by the devil or made by evil but by God as warriors for good, to battle evil and protect humans. They are much more than the familiar undead from so many of the books on the species. They are living beings who eat, sleep, and live like humans, however they have the usual strength, agility, and the eternal life to be able to perform the duties given to them.

The organization that kept the vampires and other supernatural entities from evil and who avenged those who were harmed by that evil is the Society of Sinners. And they take their mission very seriously in this first book. The evil comes from other vampires. Those who have the same powers as the warriors, who were once warriors in their own but who decide they want to rule, to have power over others. They use those powers for their own gain and to harm others. They create minions by harming and turning humans into vampiric slaves, they kill, and because of their actions they and their progeny are targeted by the Society.

The book reads like an anthologized novella, written in segments for each main character with a prologue for each that defines the background of the vampires and the Society. The stories have a main focus on the character but it has the other characters involved as well and it connects with a weaving that is complex yet very beautifully done. Each story gives the character his own voice and sets up the next and the situations with smooth grace.

I've not read a paranormal romance quite like this one and I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

I wish I had read the book " Danger from Within", which i believe Brandon appeared first. Brandon there was just a thing or a guy yeah, Lena used to make Dan jealous, and I badly want to know read the details in that book, to know what happened between Brandon and Lena.

Although, it can't be denied that The society of Sinners stand for itself. this book is Brandon's own story, the author gives us here a clear description of his life and his past. teh story was engaging and
interesting, and a mixture of romance, action and humor sums up to make a good read. The characters here are given outstanding characteristics. The story is well-plot and funny at times,.
worth the while book !:)

Nestled high in the mountains…
The quiet community of Jackson Station is where everyone knows your name and…species?

Vampires have existed since almost the beginning of time, but not in the way we have been led to believe. These were not men cursed by the devil but warriors blessed by God to have great strength, agility, and eternal life.

Eternal life came at a price, the price of human blood. Some chose to live within their own society; The Society of Sinners.

This is the first in Charity Parkerson’s new sinners series introducing a paranormal world filled with vampires, werewolves, changeling, and God’s greatest warrior.

I should have read the reviews more closely so that I was aware this was a compilation of a bunch of short stories. That being said, it was a great compilation, as all the characters' stories intertwined, so even though the individual's stories were short, I still got to know them well over the course of the book.

I was initially a bit discouraged at how quickly the stories moved along, and I felt there were gaps in the story that could have been rectified with an extra sentence or two. Sometimes time jumped, or fights occurred quickly and I found it a little bit hard to follow. Taking into account that these were a collection of short stories it is not unsurprising that there is some lack of detail around certain aspects.

The characters were fantastic! I loved them all and the way in which they were woven into multiple stories was well done. The original take on the supernatural aspects within this compilation was refreshing. I'd write a longer review but I'm itching to get stuck into Wicked Sinners :)

When I first started this book, I had to fight through it. I'm not a big fan of telling multiple interlinked stories in one book. I prefer each to be a stand alone. I'm glad I stuck with it! I ended up loving each of the characters and their stories. I think Dimitri's was my favorite though.

I read this book in preparation for reading the sequel in the Read 2 Review. I'm really looking forward to the next book.

My big disappointment with this book is that each story could have been it's own book. Each story and character has such potential and I was left wanting more. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I'm hoping the next book helps me understand why each of these stories was told the way it was.

Overall, very enjoyable! I can't wait to read more from this author!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The Society of Sinners is a collection of short stories about different couples and how they came together to be that way. Most of the stories are set in the small mountain town of Jackson Station. In this book there are vampires, shifters, mindbenders, and even a psychic. The characters of this book are all connected in the group known as Safe Haven in which people are relocated and given a new safe life. This book was a quick easy read. I am usually not big into short stories or novellas, but I did like that these were all woven together. It was interesting how the vampires are not considered evil or damned but blessed by god to defend humans against evil. It was an interesting read and I would recommend it to those who like paranormal stories.

Well... First off I have to say that isn't my usual type of reading material. At all. Having said that I do think that Ms Parkerson has converted me.

The author does an amazing job of drawing you into the lives of the characters in this book. You can find something to like and dislike about each and every one of them. They all have faults and weaknesses, and they all are incredibly real to the reader. You keep reading because you want to know what is going to happen to each and single one of them, because you find yourself caring about it.

All in all it's very enjoyable to read and very wwell written. I liked it so much that I had to buy the second book, because i have to see where the story goes from here!

So I have to admit that I don't get into Novella's much. Something about this type of story seems to always leave me wanting more.

I'm rating this book 3.5 stars because it basically combines 5 novella's into a book about a group of paranormal creatures.

I liked that the Vampires were actually enhanced by God. I thought it was a nice take on what is supposed to be an "evil" creature.

All of the stories were good, but I felt as if they could have been fleshed out more. I would have also liked to have seen more of a connection between the characters. I am not sure if this will come out in a later book, but that would be nice.

If you take an out of the way town where paranormals can live without being bothered by humans, add in the protection of a hot, heavenly warrior, spice it up with some amazing characters and blush inducing love scenes and you have the makings of a great story. Love the imagination behind this book. Even though there are werewolves and vampires, each one has special abilities which leads to some incredible twists. I liked the fact that each couple had their own short story, and the author skillfully weaved them together in an overarching plot. I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

This book is a collection of short stories but all of the other characters are in each other's stories. Good romance, good action, and likeable characters. At times it could get a little cheesy but you like the characters enough that it makes up for it. Also since it's short stories things had to happen at a pretty quick pace. If you are a PNR fan it's worth the read.
