Susan Eloise Spaeth was born on 11 December 1946 in Cuthbert, Georgia, USA. She was the eldest daughter of Maggie Eloise Cliatt, a nurse and also journalist, and William Olin Spaeth, a college professor. Her mother was part of the women's liberation movement many years before it became fashionable. Her best friends are her mother and her sister, Dannis Spaeth (Cole), who now has two daughters, Amanda Belle Hofstetter and Maggie and lives in Utah. Susan grew up reading Zane Grey and fell in love with cowboys. Susan is a former newspaper reporter, with sixteen years experience on both daily and weekly newspapers. Since 1972, she has been married to James Kyle and have since settled down in Cornelia, Georgia, where she started to write romance novels. Susan and her husband have one son, Blayne Edward, born in 1980.

She began selling romances in 1979 as Diana Palmer. She also used the pseudonyms Diana Blayne and Katy Currie, and her married name: Susan Kyle. Now, she has over 40 million copies of her books in print, which have been translated and published around the world. She is listed in numerous publications, including Contemporary Authors by Gale Research, Inc., Twentieth Century Romance and Historical Writers by St. James Press, The Writers Directory by St. James Press, the International Who's Who of Authors and Writers by Meirose Press, Ltd., and Love's Leading Ladies by Kathryn Falk. Dalton national sales awards, two Bookrak national sales awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award for series storytelling from Romantic Times, several Affaire de Coeur awards, and two regional RWA awards.

Inspired by her husband, who quit a blue-collar manufacturing job to return to school and get his diploma in computer programming, Susan herself went back to college as a day student at the age of 45. In 1995, she graduated summa cum laude from Piedmont College, Demorest, GA, with a major in history and a double minor in archaeology and Spanish. She was named to two honor societies (the Torch Club and Alpha Chi), and was named to the National Dean's List. In addition to her writing projects, she is currently working on her master's degree in history at California State University. She hopes to specialize in Native American studies. She is a member of the Native American Rights Fund, the American Museum of Natural History, the National Cattlemen's Association, the Archaeological Institute of Amenca, the Planetary Society, The Georgia Conservancy, the Georgia Sheriff's Association, and numerous conservation and charitable organizations. Her hobbies include gardening, archaeology, anthropology, iguanas, astronomy and music.

In 1998, her husband retired from his own computer business and now pursues skeet shooting medals in local, state, national and international competition. They love riding around and looking at the countryside, watching sci-fi on TV and at the movies, just talking and eating out.

3/5 stars for the first book, 3.5/5 stars for the second book. They were alright. The second book was significantly more captivating.

Marcus

Is one of my favorite characters in the book because he reformed from his life in crime and helped shut down a crime ring. I think Delia is perfect for him and I hoped they would work things out. However, Barb got on my nerves. She should have told Delia after her mom died who she was so when confronted by that ass Eric she wouldn't have been hurt.

A 2 for 1 book. True Bue - In the Long, Tall Texan series this one tells the story of Rick Marquez and the woman who will make his entire life change. Carrera's Bride - This story is about Marcus Carrera millionaire casino owner and a notorious man before changing his life around and the woman he meets when he saves her from a molester in his casino. Both are good reads.

Rated: 3.0/5.0—Both stories were interesting, but I think I enjoyed the second story, Carerra’s Bride better than True Blue. I found Carrera's anti-hero captivating and enjoyed the story more.

Once again I've diverted from Christmas but I needed a book to read while sitting in the airport waiting for my flight (3 hours) so I stopped at the airport book store and picked this book up. A two in one story deal. The first story n is new for 2011 and involves a police detective and his new partner. She's kind of clutzy but there's an underling deception that makes the story all the more interesting. Even more interesting is the tie in between the murder the detective and his partner are involved with and the assignment that the female partner is really there about. The second story is a reissue of an older story from the author. This story involves a bad guy, who's trying to become a good guy. He rescues a young woman from her date who's trying to force himself on her. You need to read the story to find out what happens between them. There are some very interesting twists to this tale.

True Blue (Rating: 1/5 stars) was hard to get through. I just couldn't connect with the hero or heroine. They felt flat to me. I know this is a Palmer romance book, but the heroine's true job seemed completely out of character and unrealistic.

Carrera's Bride (Rating: 3/5 stars) was more enjoyable. Maybe because I like anti-heroes. Story was much more interesting too.

I enjoyed Carrera's Bride, however, I was disappointed in True Blue it was a chore to get through. There were a few enjoyable lines in it.
