Desperate for the freedom and respect that her wealth, privilege, and beauty cannot buy, Augusta Featherstone undertakes a desperate gamble by arranging for her own abduction, but her captor is a mysterious stranger with his own dangerous agenda. Original.
New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Suzanne Forster is living proof of William Shakespeare’s maxim that the uses of adversity are sweet. Suzanne’s writing career began by accident. Literally. A car accident ended her dreams for a career in clinical psychology. During her recovery, she began writing to fill the hours, and before she was well enough to return to graduate school, she’d sold her first book and launched a new career. Since then Suzanne has written more than thirty novels and been the recipient of countless awards, including The National Readers’ Choice Award for Shameless, her mainstream debut. She’s received recognition for outstanding sales from Waldenbooks and Bookrak, and her recent novel, Unfinished Business, was made into a movie for the Oxygen Network. Suzanne has a Master’s Degree in Writing Popular Fiction, and she teaches and lectures frequently. Her seminars on Women's Contemporary Fiction at UCLA and UC Riverside were rated outstanding, and her most requested workshop, "The High-Concept Synopsis," is based on personal experience. Her breakout novel, Shameless, sold on a synopsis that triggered a bidding war and garnered her a six-figure contract. Suzanne has received considerable media attention, including a feature segment on Extra, NBC's news and entertainment magazine, and an Emmy Award–winning "Special Report" on CBS Channel 23 News. Her many print appearances include the L.A. Times, the Philadelphia Inquirer, Redbook and Orange Coast Magazine
I bought this long ago and lost my copy I got my chance to replace it and read it again great read. Suzanne Forster Writes with a super flare for suspense and the love scene aren't bad either
Another cliche love story about yet another cliche obnoxious bitch. Nothing special, Nothing that makes me want to get to the end. Its becoming a very unfortunate trend in romance novels these days to have a female lead who's just completely awful. I personally don't want to waste my time reading about a horrible human being who gets off the hook simply because she's female. Sarcastic,Rude,Self-centered, Bossy and unbearably over-confident are not the traits of a strong woman...they're the traits of a BITCH! I'm confused as to how these horrible personality flaws became the definition of feminine appeal. Its disgusting to me. Whatever happened to the 'good wholesome girls' who know how to treat a man with respect, instead of demanding respect in return for nothing at all?
I mean for instance the girl in this book has a gun pointed in her face by a complete stranger and still manages to throw in some sass and attitude in the heat of the danger. There's no fear, no reaction, nothing. Nothing to make me think of her as a real person. Only Attitude with a capitol A-It's incredulous, stupid and unrealistic.
I've no need to go any further... If this is the direction romance novels are headed then I'll soon have to jump ship and find a genre that's worth it.
The mystery element was not very suspenseful. It was evident from the first. The story had lot of heat but somehow lacked in emotional connect. The same old story of a jaw dropping hero and heroine
