All I'll Ever Need

Rate this book
The grueling past months finally seem about to blossom into a happy future together for Dr. Claire McCall and her fiance, John Cerelli. But their wedding plans are interrupted by circumstances so devastating they threaten everything Claire holds dear: her medical career, her relationship with John, and quite possibly her freedom.
Working through the turmoil caused by a near rape, Claire has sought a counselor to help her untangle her emotions. What the counselor uncovers is shattering, but things are about to get worse. The man who assaulted her escapes from jail---and then, to top it off, Claire is accused of euthanizing a terminally ill patient.
But the next death is the one that could shake Claire's world to its foundation.
How can so much be happening so fast---unless someone is choreographing this lethal nightmare? In this exciting sequel to Could I Have This Dance? and For the Rest of My Life, nothing may be as it seems. Not the present. And not the past.

Another good Claire McCall book. This is one very strong women. She just seems to have one disaster after another in her life, but through it all she keeps her faith and is able to get through it all.

I hated to see this series come to an end! Disappointed in Claire not finding a better guy than John, but otherwise they were great medical thrillers.

Harry Kraus never fails to entertain and mesmerize... this book - while it stands alone- is better when read in order so you know ore of the back story of the characters

I have enjoyed listening to this series but I find it had to understand why the character John was portrayed as lacking hardly any common sense!

First time I have picked up a book by this author, and I thought it would be neat to read a story of a doctor written by a doctor. I wasn’t disappointed. All I’ll Ever Need is the third book in this series, but I was able to jump into the story with relatively ease. There were a lot of characters in the beginning, but I kept pushing through and soon everything fell into place and I was able to ‘connect all the dots’.

I wasn’t expecting this book to be such a suspenseful mystery, but it was. When I hit the halfway mark on the book, I could not put it down! The complexity of the plot was amazing! Kudos to Harry for thinking of this and tweaking out every detail so that, at the end – when you don’t think the situation can ever be resolved – everything gets worked out perfectly. The storyline was very gripping!

Claire and her family have had such a difficult life – I couldn’t help feel sorry for them. And to know that you have the gene that could give you a deadly disease later on in life…that’s sobering. I connected with her really well, and was sad to leave her and her new husband when the story ended. John, her fiancé was also a great guy. He was so sweet and understanding toward Claire in everything – and faithful, even when he was getting hit on by a younger, prettier woman. Though, I must admit, I wanted to knock his block off sometimes when he put up with the flirting instead of simply showing that girl straight out the door! lol, I wanted to yell at him, “You know you’re setting yourself up for trouble!”

When Claire is arrested and put in prison, I really felt her pain. How awful it must be to not understand why you are even being held, not be able to see your husband or family, and not be able to help yourself get out of prison. I think I’d go crazy! I kept rooting for John, anticipating him figuring out the mystery so he could get his wife out of there. And when he finally made the connection, I held my breath when he was attacked. Yes, like I said, it was a very suspenseful read!

There are several cautions I must give on this read. I wouldn’t recommend this book for younger readers. Claire is nearly raped in her bed in the previous book, and she deals with many things in All I’ll Ever Need connected with the attempted rape. She remembers being molested as a teenager after she got drunk one night. Nothing too graphic, but she mentions being inappropriately touched and her clothes pulled off. Two different couples in this book deal with past affairs they had, though nothing is explained except that it happened in the past. As I mentioned above, there is a flirt who wants John’s attentions and she goes to great lengths to try to pull him away from Claire. She goes so far as to even make it look like John was trying to molest her in hopes that Claire would dump him. Lastly, I did catch one bad word in this book, if I remember correctly.

With all that said, I still think it was a really neat, suspenseful mystery that kept me guessing. I was able to figure out who it was a little while before the characters, and it made me antsy as I waited for them to make the connects as well. (I guess it helps when you are able to read different scenes from different characters. lol) The ending was all I could have hoped for. It was perfect. :-)

Ami Grandle has a background of emotional instabilility. She's in love with John Cerelli. Dr. Claire McCall is engaged to John Cerelli.

Claire McCall suffers from memories of a past rape and now a near rape by Tyler Curtchfield, whom she shot him in the leg during the attack. He's in jail, but needs hospital care for the gunshot wound. Through clever maneuvering, he escapes and threatens Claire once again.

Claire goes into therapy for the assaults. Her therapist uses a tape recording procedure to express her anger at her dad for allegedly raping her, a method to ease her pain.

Dr. Jimmy Jenken's has retired. A former patient asks for more pain meds for cancer pain. Jimmy asks Claire for a prescription, which she gives him. Said patient is suddenly dead. Claire is suspected for mercy killing.

Claire's dad has Huntington's disease and is slowly dying from this body-thrashing disease. He wants to die, which he's shared with Claire. A strange 911 call to the police hears a voice telling a man she hates him for raping her. Her dad mysteriously dies suddenly the day of Claire's wedding, after she had been to see him in the morning. Claire is again suspected.

Tyler Crutchfield is found dead in Claire's car trunk the day of her wedding. Claire is suspected.

The wedding for John and Claire arrives, but police wait till after the wedding before they arrest her, on her honeymoon!

Who's behind all these deaths? Has Claire's anger gone overboard emotionally? Is Tyler retaliating as he threatened her? Why is he then dead?

James Scott Bell has multiple plots and subplots keeping you on the edge of your seat, fearing another rape attempt and multiple deaths popping up with Claire right smack in the middle of them all. He brings the book to a close in a most surprising way.

WOW! This book has been good enough and with enough suspense to keep me up at night. Just finished it and it was a cliff hanger until the very end. This is 3rd book in the trilogy..well worth the read. (Starts with Can I have this Dance). This is a Christian fiction but it is not preachy, so anyone would feel comfortable reading this, no matter what your beliefs. The premise of the whole series is about genetic illness in the family...do you want to get tested to find out if you are a carrier? And if you do, and you are, how do you live your life? I won't give away the decisions Claire McCall the main character made. Beyond that is plenty of other mystery, suspense and just a really good story!!

This was a total suspense and high drama book. I had read one other of the author's books so knew what his writing style was like. I loved it! The main character was a doctor in a small town. Suspicious things began happening and she was arrested for murder. Her world turned upside down and she was sent to jail right after her wedding and before her honeymoon. It was a story about a lady who held a grudge against the doctor and her daughter who was unstable herself. Their was stalking, an attempted rape, a rape (not graphic thank goodness) and a good old crime story. I read most of the book in one night. I could hardly put the book down.

Wow. What a roller coaster ride!!! A gripping story finale for Claire. I would have given 4 stars except the story was too far fetched. Everything that could go wrong and more!

I had read the last two books and when I saw that there was a third book, I was anxious to read it. I was a little disappointed in how the book was written, as I felt that the story line was a little predictable at times, even thought I really did not expect the twist that happened. Overall, the book was good and kept my interest.

I really enjoyed this book and it's unexpected twists. But you need to bring with the first and second books first - 1st book Could I have this Dance? 2nd book For the Rest of My Life. Same characters in all 3 books.

This is third in the Claire McCall trilogy. The books declined in quality as the trilogy progressed – went from character/relationship-based to exceedingly plot-driven. Definitely suspenseful, though, and lots of action.

enjoyed the last of this series. The author is a doctor and brings a lot of authenticity to this story about a doctor in a small town.

Love this series!

This is a riveting, twisting tale of drama mixed with Christianity and medical lingo that kept my interest from beginning to end.

Review for all of the Harry Krauss books I've read so far......have thorough enjoyed each book. Just now seeing there are a few I've not found on my public library shelves, I'll be seeing if they can order. Just enough romance, mystery and intrigue. Glad I found this author.
