Halton Arp is an astronomer who's research into the redshift phenomena was ridiculed and rejected by his peers because it contradicted contemporary science. I'm highly interested in anything that contradicts contemporary science, and Arp is often quoted by physicists such as Walt Thornhill. Arp's research is also the basis of the book "The Big Bang Never Happened" by Eric Lerner, which I intend to read next.

Thoroughly researched and equally thoroughly documented, "Seeing Red" is a combination of indisputable observations and frustrated commentary on the preset agenda of academia. Rather then pursuing new evidence and ideas, the institution we trust with unlocking the secrets of the universe clings to models so outdated the only way to continue to believe in them is to ignore facts in favor of blind faith. Some advanced mathematics make this book a hard read for the layman, but when in doubt simply skip ahead to the next paragraph. Highly recommended to anyone interested in the Big Bang vs Steady State universe theory, or astronomy in general.

I'm going to investigate the author's claims. I don't have advanced knowledge of the subject, so I'm going to have to learn more before I can form an opinion.
