This is a good read if you watch the movie “High School Musical” then think “I would like to relive the movie High School Musical without the best part, aka the visuals.” personally I liked the movie but it really stressed me out that no one was studying for the SATs
I was a high school freshman when this movie premiered. I absolutely loved it back then. Personally, I think the first movie had a good YA contemporary romance plot.
The book i chose is called High school musical battle of the bands. The Author is N.B Grace. This book is fiction. This book is realistic fiction because it has things that can happen in real life like signing in a band and also because it is a disney original movie but in a book it shows that someone made it up. I chose this book because i like Musicals and because i read the back and it said that there is a battle of bands which to me is interesting. This book is about 3 friends ending up in different bands for battle of the band and eventually there becomes more and more issues. The story takes place mainly in the school auditorium where all the groups practice but there are also other settings like Gabriella’s house, the stage, outside and ect. The central character i think is Gabriella because she has friends but they start breaking up and it mainly explains her issues. Gabriella’s challenge is to making sure her solo is good while making sure she will not lose any friends. The characters change through the story because they get more music talent and get more friendship problems and relationships. The plot of the book is practicing for the performance. Gabriella starts losing friends, and becomes bored. In the beginning of the book troy’s friends say he spends too much time with gabriella so they decide to join battle of the bad. After i little while they realise they need help so they ask ryan to help them, but his sister is not allowed to see him. Sharpay is also making a group a girl group and adds gabriella’s other friend in it.In the middle they are all practising so they have no time to be with gabriella. She starts to feel left out. She doesn’t to tell them that she also join battle of the bands doing a solo. At the end of the book they all become one big group of friends. The story made me feel a different perspective of their life. The plot was exciting and believable because it was basically someone’s life as a high school singer. The characters seemed real because they were real people not talking animals. They were funny and scary moments. The story made me think of gabriella’s life and life in general, how good it is. I learned that if you want a friend make sure to inform they about anything that is happening with you and they can help you even if it’s a contest. My favorite part of the book was then gabriella finally told her friends what was going on with her. I think this book is real amazing and interesting. I like that there is lots of issue. I think this book is a thing bit confusing so sometimes i have to re-read something. I would recommended this book to a friend because it is real musical and exciting. I think this book age is 10-13 because it has problems mainly at that age and for 13 and above it would be boring and for below 10 it would be very confusing. I would give this book a 9 rating.
God what can I say about this? What can anyone say about something that kick started shows like 'Glee'?! Well here goes: it's 'Grease'. That's all there is to it, it's a carbon copy of 'Grease'. This isn't really a spoiler as I recommend you just go see 'Grease' it's better. 'High School Musical' is just every slice of Disney pixie kid monstrosity mutated into one annoying cheese fest. The characters are bland, the teachers are insane, the premise is stupid (the bits it didn't steal from 'Grease') and the music.....is actually pretty good. I know! I am ashamed to say it but a few of the songs (a few!) are kind of catchy and to be honest, rather nice to listen to. Does it save the musical, of course not, but it at least has something positive I can mention. My advice, watch 'Grease', you'll thank me for it later.
high school musical is amazing iv seen 1,2,and 3 the movies are allsome the books are even better if you havent seen the movies you should go check it out and tell me what you think xx leah
As a reader, this book made me excited to read. I was the best fan of the movie and had to buy the book as a child. The book goes right along with the movie, and I would read it over and over imagining myself as Gabriella. The book allowed me to be anywhere in the story I wanted to be without having to rewind or fast forward.
As a teacher, I would love for my students to read this book. I think the story will hook them into the entire series. The message for this book is another great reason why children should read it. That people are not held to a certain group and stereotype. We should breakout of that and talk to different people.
Surprising, I'm not really a fan of high school musical but the book proved quite good to read and it's quick if you're looking to read a book in just one day.
