pretty good! while some of the info is a bit dated, most of it holds up well. there's a lot of meat and cheese based stuff in here, so not ideal for me recipe-wise, but it gave me some good ideas and inspiration and starting points which was all i was really looking for. plus i liked the sidebars of different experienced backpackers and their approach to food on the trail-- that was fun! a good reference, would look at again.

Good book - good reference, and there are fun "expert tips" sprinkled throughout that mix things up a bit. I got this as a gift, and found myself using it pretty heavily on the last trip I planned.
