The book is divided into two parts. The first part is a memoir - the story of the author's personal experience in dealing with his aging parents. It was an insightful, enjoyable and at times funny account of the time from his father's stroke while caring for his mother with early Alzheimer's through the end of their lives.
The second part of the book is a reference book containing information on many aspects of elder issues, including types of services, legal and financial issues, and where to find more information. At the beginning of Part 2 is a list of 50 questions to ask in preparation for dealing with aging parents, a good exercise to go through preferably before your parents are too far along, or even to help your own kids out when you're in the position of needing their help.
