his is the part I'm always the worst at—talking about myself! So as you've figured out, my name is Elizabeth Rudnick and I'm a young adult author. I'm also a Senior Editor at Disney Press in New York City. I've edited books based on movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and Prince of Persia as well as Miley Cyrus's memoir, Miles to Go, which was a New York Times bestseller (imagine if Tweet Heart was too!) and a total blast to work on.

When I'm not working, I live in Connecticut with a big mutt named Jack Dyson (because he has the ability to suck up anything in his way) and have a habit of watching hours of mindless television. I like to think of it as research!

IMHO, salah satu nilai minus setelah Marvel Studio menjadi bagian dari Disney adalah... Disney hanya mau menerbitkan junior novelization. Seolah penikmat film superhero hanya anak-anak dan remaja. Aku kehilangan novel-novel movie novelization yang ditujukan untuk kalangan dewasa. Huh...

Jelas, junior novelization jauh lebih tipis, dengan karakterisasi sebatas apa yang terlihat di filmnya, tidak digali lebih dalam lagi sehingga kita bisa mengetahui apa yang ada di benak masing-masing karakter yang tidak ada di dialognya.

Kekurangan lain junior novelization, karena saking tipisnya, banyak adegan film yang hilang! Terbalik dengan umumnya banyak adegan di novel yang hilang di filmnya!

Apa saja adegan yang hilang? Justru adegan action-nya! Mana adegan Thor menerobos masuk ke site S.H.I.E.L.D untuk mengambil kembali Mjolnir? Aku sempat berharap ada sedikit adegan Hawkeye yang nyaris memanah Thor. Mana adegan Thor yang dalam kondisi mortal rela mengorbankan nyawa demi kepentingan orang lain, titik kritis di mana Thor memperoleh kekuatan dewanya kembali dan bisa memanggil Mjolnir ke tangannya? Manaaaa?

Satu-satunya hal baru yang kudapat dari novel ini adalah, apa yang terlintas di benak Jane saat ia baru saja menabrak Thor untuk pertama kalinya: I hit a model. Twewew...

Yeah, Thor is a beautiful man with a body dan face like his. Oh, don't forget his lovely blond long hair...

I realize, of course, that this is the "Junior Novel," but I found it rather annoying that the author skipped over a whole lot of stuff. I was also having nasty Twilight flashbacks whenever I read all the gushing about how handsome Thor is. Gah.

I thought this book was okay. It's a pretty good junior movie adaptation. It went through most of the story that was in the movie, but the ending was rather abrupt.

I mean its based on the movie and doesn't mention all that happened but still its a nice and quick read after I have DNF'd my last read.
