Michel Pirus was born in Thionville in 1962. He studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Reims, but this became a fiasco. After his military service, he started contributing to magazine Metal Hurlant. Together with Dionnet, he created his debut 'Rose Profond', published by Albin Michel in 1989. He met Mezzo and they teamed up on a series of dark comic stories, published in the Frank Margerin Présente series, and also on 'Deux Tueurs' for Éditions Delcourt. On his own, Pirus created 'Plip', about a rectangular planet, in which he used a graphic style that became very popular. He has also worked together with Charlie Schlingo, with whom he created 'Canetor' for magazine Picsou and Ferraille Illustré. [source: http://lambiek.net/artists/p/pirus_mi...]

Provides->Panel->Per->Page->Plus->Phylactere Each 180 mm x 260 mm spread allowed him MASSIVE characters and the polarity of huge swaths of "skyless" white during the day and complete blackness engulfment at night. I can't imagine that he spent much time because of the perceived simpliciy of this non-artist who thinks he could at least D- it copying it in front of me. Still, it has an aesthetic charm and seemingly unintended adorability- while being appropriate for the subject matter.
It's simple reading for a child who doesn't seek or require any logic to abide or message/lesson to analyze. I can be demanding of such things but I was disarmed immediately and had no problem embracing the funnonsensicality!
