This book offers a lot of valuable insight about life, particularly how Christians should live. Brian Shipman points to Jesus and Bible stories. We, particularly Americans, have forgotten what life is really supposed to be about. We have confused busyness and completing tasks with living a fulfilled life. Shipman suggests spending more time seeking peace in contrast to simply doing more. This is in stark contrast to a quote from another author, Richard Carlson, who says, "People should no longer be called human beings we should be called human doings." I first heard about this book from the senior pastor of my church and now I why he would recommend this book. My best advice when reading this is to definitely take you time. Even if this means reading one chapter per week, especially for small group bible study leaders. This book offers far too much to simply breeze through the text.
